Superb reflection by @emilyinyourphone.bsky.social on current state of political violence in US emilyinyourphone.substack.com/p/how-the-ri...
As always, @emilyinyourphone.bsky.social nails it.
"We should not have to live in a country where school shootings and political violence are the norm. Our neighbors, our families, our children deserve better. And that’s what we are fighting for."
I think a lot of people were surprised by the scale and reach of the Charlie Kirk influencer ecosystem this week. There’s another massive influencer ecosystem you might not be aware of, and it’s MAHA. And they’ve set their sights on taking down abortion.
"Democracy is a living, breathing beast whose strength hinges on the full unhindered participation of ALL citizens."

Take action & find joy, as the feud you need to fight.
If your whole political identity is “resisting government overreach,” then why are you silent when ICE arrests people without warrants, hearings, or ID?
Tyranny isn’t always a big speech and a boot. Sometimes it’s just a cell phone and a badge that says nothing.
People like Elon Musk want Americans poor and desperate for any job. I want people healthy and fed so they are living productive joyful lives. We are not the same.
One of the messaging failures I think Dems have done repeatedly is failed to articulate why our policies result in a better America for everyone.
This is not just about Medicaid, it’s about how we want to function as a country. If we think life is better for all of us if we take care of our neighbors, or if we want to let corporations write the rules, cut the safety net, and call it ‘freedom.’
@emilyinyourphone.bsky.social's explainer on the pronatalism movement connects the dots with a lot of helpful information. Read it if you haven't already. (And she's having a subscription sale this week if you're interested.) open.substack.com/pub/emilyiny...
One thing about me is if you text about your medical ailment, I will suggest Gato.
guys they're going to stop feeding TSA's bomb-sniffing dogs, per Fox News nat security correspondent:
Hey folks – my phone system is having some tech difficulties and hanging up on callers that opt to leave voicemails.
Your calls are important to me, so we're working hard to get it up again, but to be clear, I’m a NO on the CR, so if that’s why you’re calling, I hear ya!
@schatz.bsky.social when are you going to tell us what you were thinking?
Thank god Dems didn't give up that valuable weapon, the filibuster! How would they oppose this administration without it?
Has any org put out a release breaking down what’s actually in the CR?
I cannot believe Congressional dems scheduled their retreat for this week - it’s like they never planned to fight.
Private Equity is about to do with Social Security what they did with Joanne’s.
Dems should accept a 30 day clean CR and then spend the next month actually preparing a massive messaging war.
At least 50% of Tesla owners are bad drivers. The correlation is strong.
one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much
A lot of MAGA about to learn that riding in a Tesla makes you nauseous
Tesla infomercial on the White House lawn is not the future I dreamed of while watching QVC with my grandma
