Rating: ***1/2
Why: I saw it recommended and I have a small thing for penguins. The tale of one man and his penguin. It is very sweet.

Got hearing aids today. The world is very loud. It seems I type like a herd of wildebeast rampaging across the plains...

I think that's true of a lot of things, knowing that it is a thing, and not imagination, makes a big mindset difference.
Hoping it makes a positive difference and you've got a route forward.

Sunday morning ringing was Stedman, Grandsire, Little bob and a few call changes to time. Then coffee before a quarter after the service.

They played really well. While English, I have a soft spot for the underdog. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

A week in Europe with work, flew back today. Which meant I was not at all awake for ringing. Cop out on the treble a couple of times, plus some Stedman.

I watched it for the first time a few years ago and it immediately went into my list of favourite films.

If I described someone as requiring a little less conversstion and a little more action, are you taking that comment on board or starting to hum along? Guessing an age and cultural divide at work...

I remember being in school and college and perfecting the minimum amount of time needed between the alarm clock and leaving the house. If there was extra time, it was spent in a teenage fleapit, asleep!

Oh excellent. I went in on Saturday, it all looks fabulous.

Wrapping up February Three finishes and one book that I abandoned. I almost never abandon a book, the last DNF was in 2023, so that gives you some idea how bad that must have been. Iโ€™ll get that one over with firโ€ฆ

Wrapping up February's reviews, with one DNF. My first since 2023! I don't DNF very often, but this was really awful.

Ringing this morning was busy. Stedman, plain hunt, bristol, cambridge & call changes.
Now refueling with a cuppa.

I think that's a fair summation. I can think of several books that I did not enjoy reading, but that I would still recommend as really good books. I enjoy reading, I don't enjoy everything I read. Being taken elsewhere & walking a mile in someone else's shoes can be rewarding, not always enjoyable.
