A clear with a score of 868,880 (142 perfects, 79 greats, 8 goods and 42 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Paranoia Evolution. All I can say about this chart is OW. I don't even want to think about the doubles chart (RIP to my dreams of the DP18 clear lamp...) Appreciate the references to the Single Expert chart - however, it did NOT need to go that hard. Glad I got that one done, I shudder to think about trying to score on it... Guess it's time to play a lot of the more recent twisty 200 bpm 18s again!

A score of 944,600 (91 perfects, 26 greats, 5 goods and 20 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Ubertreffen. Actually kinda fun, love that they took the 270s from the Single Expert chart and ran with it here! I somehow managed to time it relatively well here, with less than 100 perfects! I can definitely get this one over 950k, I think I just need to be a little bit more familiar with how to doublestep some of the bursts in this chart

A Perfect Full Combo with 1 perfect on the Single Difficult chart for Toy Boxer. From 2 perfects to 1! It's just a comfortable chart to time and the chart itself is pretty good. I was hoping to get the MFC today - but alas... It's ok, there's always next year!

A Perfect Full Combo with 3 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Meltdown. About time, I'd say! Definitely a good MFC candidate - it's just I never got around to really improving it to that point. Song is cool, and the chart is good, can't really go wrong! That's a 8 perfect raise, and a new SP12 SDP (#52).

What a sesh to finish 2024 on, can't believe ALL THAT happened today!

A Triple A (AAA) run with 72 perfects, 3 greats and 4 misses on the Single Challenge chart for Going Hypersonic. Oh. MY. That's an INSANE run. I knew I did well, but I didn't think I'd keep my great count THAT low!! Something about labbing this chart two weeks ago in SoCal helped heaps! That adds one more SP17 AAA to the collection (#29)

A score of 986,690 with 72 perfects, 7 greats and 6 misses on the Single Challenge chart for Step This Way. Much better run on this chart, that MA was great! Unfortunately I hit metal quite a few times, which costed me the AAA. It's fine, as it's very much doable. As for this chart, well, it feels like a chart straight from ITG stamina. It's good to have some of these charts in moderation!

A score of 982,590 (137 perfects, 14 greats and 5 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for C-C-C-N-N-N. Felt good to hold combo through the 170 bpm box run! I kept dropping combo there whenever I played it before. Maybe it was because I played Max 300 earlier... I had another run with 2 misses, with more greats and perfects. Forgot to turn on Flare 1 for that one... Overall, this was about a 6,000 point increase.

A score of 975,980 (124 perfects, 23 greats, 2 goods and 4 misses) on the Single Expert chart for New Century. Great to revisit this chart after not having played it in a long time. The chart is pretty great, especially with those sideswitch crossovers at the end. 195 bpm still hard, but maybe it'll come down to playing faster charts! It's only a 1,000 point increase, but it's something!

Some 17s I did today! Glad I got around to doing them, I think they were very much needed.

A Perfect Full Combo with 57 perfects on the Single Challenge chart for Setsujou danka. Knew that it would happen, it ended up only taking 2 attempts today. While I enjoyed the 12th note streams, I lowkey wished it was just a bit harder. Fortunately, the Double Challenge chart for this song seems to do that! That was my 25th SP16 PFC - we broke a mini drought before the end of the year!!

A Perfect Full Combo with 62 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Shutter Girl. Oh WOW, this happened in one try today?! Yes, I got taxed hard on the MA, but that's fine. Great chart, with those streams being good practice! That is my 26th SP16 PFC!

A Great Full Combo with 81 perfects and 2 greats on the Single Expert chart for Night of Knights Ryu Remix. Uhhhhh what just happened?? I only wanted a Flare 9 clear, but now a Flare EX doesn't sound impossible anymore! Felt pretty good on those anchored 16th runs from I'm so Happy! That is an increase of about 2,000 points - a PFC wouldn't be impossible, if a little hard cause of the late sync.

A Triple A (AAA) run with 40 perfects, 4 greats and 1 miss on the Single Expert chart for Love You More. As expected, I picked up one of the greats in the second 16th stepjump. And I had a gold combo until the first burst after the first 16th stepjump... The miss was in the final stream! Still very fun to play! Probably can PFC this chart, if everything lines up correctly.

In 16 land, I somehow managed to get TWO PFCs in the same sesh. Certainly wasn't expecting that! With both of them, I managed to reach Amethyst 4!

A Perfect Full Combo with 16 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Keep On Movin' (Y&Co. DJ BOSS remix). Whoaaaa that was a solid run! It's kinda fun, I definitely liked the gallops and syncopated crossovers. With all that being said, the flow is just awkward, had to do some doublestepping just to make it work. In any case, I think that's a 22 perfect raise! And the current Australia area record for this chart on DDR World at the time of writing! (not overall)

A Perfect Full Combo with 24 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Daily Lunch Special. Wanted to see if my drill footspeed was good today, and it turns out the answer was yes! Cute chart, albeit with some ambiguous parts. Fortunately, they're 8th note runs, so it's not terrible. That's a 3 perfect raise. It might be small, but at this point, we take any raises that show up!

A Perfect Full Combo with 23 perfects on the Single Challenge chart for Paranoia (X-Special). Definitely wasn't expecting to one shot this today! I remembered how much this song actually drifts and some of the patterning in this chart being awkward, so this was a big surprise! (The doubles chart for this is even wackier) I think that makes 226 SP13 PFCs? Definitely could try for the gold lamp - but I think I need to clear them all first to see how close I am to it...

A Perfect Full Combo with 12 perfects on the Sinfle Expert chart for Sayonara Disco Light. Very fun 13, love all the crossovers in this - and even the gallops too! It's easily become a comfort SP13 for me now. While I was hoping to get a SDP on this - I think it's still amazing! That's a 2 perfect raise on this!

Did some easier stuff too - more SP14 raising, and Flare EX clears in that folder.

Then I've been trying to go for the SP13 clear lamp - while I'm not that far away, it's still a bit of a hassle considering I usually play them in warm-up or cooldown sets.

A Great Full Combo with 55 perfects and 5 greats on the Single Expert chart for access super [hyper] focus. Pretty tricky chart, once the gradual speedup drill happens - the 190 bpm segment goes pretty hard with those syncopated 16th triplets and the jump-jack-jump ending. There's definitely room for a challenge - and hoo boy it's probably gonna be insane. Pretty happy with this, all things considered. That speedup drill will be a nightmare when I go for the PFC, but that's for later me!

A Perfect Full Combo with 20 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Environ De-Sync. Oh wow, I must have really locked on during that song - cause I was NOT expecting that MA on this! Very good chart, those triplets into crossovers during the chorus are nice! That's an 8 perfect raise for me! Getting it down to single digit perfects is possible, but probably not at the moment.

A Full Combo with 30 perfects, 1 great and 1 good on the Single Challenge chart for Holic. Ah man, I fumbled a minijack triplet into normal triplet... Oh well, the MA was pretty good - and the chart is fun! Love how you can choose to do the minijack triplets as either footswitches or crossovers. Definitely can close this one out relatively soon 👀

A Perfect Full Combo with 18 perfects on the Single Challenge chart for Hopeful. Finally, a chart that got released from the GP wall! Such a fun one to play with those syncopated bursts and whatnot. This was raised from my initial PFC of 42 perfects earlier in the session. Before today, I had 1 great on this chart - so that makes 1 more SP15 PFC to finish the year! (#101)

More 15s from today, including a victory lap SP15 PFC that's very fitting!

And I got to try the new World League song - hoo boy that chart is a tricky one (at least to score on).

A Perfect Full Combo on the Single Expert chart for Max 300! YESSS WE HIT TRIPLE DIGIT SP15s!!! And what a 15 to get it on too - it was The 15 that started it all, so I figured we'd come full circle with this one! Took a bit of grinding to get there, but I'm very happy to get it with no MA tax, if only barely. That is, of course, the 100th SP15 PFC for me!

A Perfect Full Combo and Flare EX sweep on all charts of Max 300 on Singles, excluding the X-Special. Who knew I would get the sweep on this song - one of the huge ones to get! And to get it just before the end of 2024 (where I am), it's so great to see 😄

Boy do I have a session for y'all - finishing the year on a BANGER with my 100th SP15 PFC!!

Definitely come a long way from my 1st 15 in Jan 2020 - I don't think I would have anticipated to get this back then 😅

A Triple A (AAA run) with 77 perfects, 2 greats and 3 misses on the Challenge chart for Red by Full Metal Jacket. Even on stock pads, turns out I can footswitch mostly fine! First great was at a random 8th crossover, then the rest was probably near the end of the down switches. Very much a PFC candidate for me, but for now - that makes a new SP17 AAA (#28).

A score of 967,200 (111 perfects, 19 greats and 13 misses) on the Single Expert chart for The History of the Future. Oh boy, holding on to the combo during the Possession run in the beginning felt SATISFYING. Definitely a big highlight, getting a bit closer to 970k! Just need to make sure my feet can move faster to hit all that 😅

A score of 923,600 (153 perfects, 62 greats, 2 goods and 24 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Fly Like You. Wasn't expecting to do this well on it, even with those fast 12th runs! Pretty good chart, actually - it's just a bit of a nightmare to execute well. Very happy with this first play, and I think I can see this over 950k if I don't completely fumble a lot of the 12th runs.

A score of 859,000 (187 perfects, 81 greats, 12 goods and 66 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Sakazuki. A 18 can fit this song, but it didn't need to go THAT hard omg!! What a nightmare of a chart - some of those 12th runs, especially when they start, felt a bit too insane. Not gonna be easy to get over 900k, that's for sure.

A Great Full Combo with 70 perfects and 2 greats on the Single Expert chart for Diavolo. This one's a candidate for sure! Had a pretty long combo until the longer box runs in the second half. Very fun, with a bpm that's relatively comfortable for me!

A Great Full Combo with 89 perfects and 12 greats on the Single Challenge chart for Thank You Merry Christmas. 3 days late, but we got a raise on it! Kinda fun 12th note heavy chart, though actually closing out the PFC will be a nightmare considering how early this is... That takes my SP16 AAA count to 148!

A Life4 clear with 52 perfects, 2 greats and 1 miss on the Single Expert chart for Sakazuki. Another candidate for sure! The scooby box run might be the trickiest part, but once I've got it - it's very much possible! Very nice 16 overall, definitely reasonable when compared to...the other monstrosity that is the Challenge charts for this song.

A Great Full Combo with 59 perfects and 1 great for the Challenge chart for Danmaku shinkou. On a first play?! Holy cow, that is 100% going to happen soon! Felt very comfortable for most of it - I was hoping there'd be a little bit more going on in the slowdown. Otherwise this is a solid chart that focuses on 12th streams and some stepjumps! Keen to try and close this one out.

A Perfect Full Combo with 41 perfects on the Challenge chart for Zutto mitsumeteite (Ryu Remix). Very neat chart, with the occasional crossover during some of those streams! That last perfect felt on the border of the late perfect/great window, but I'm glad I got it! That ended up being #98 for my SP15 PFCs.

A Perfect Full Combo with 40 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Rabbit Hole. 691 notes in a 15?! That'll definitely be a stamina drainer! The slowdown is quite cute here too, lowkey hoped it would appear in at least the Difficult charts... Anyway, that is my 99th SP15 PFC! Hoping for Max 300 soon!

A Great Full Combo with 38 perfects and 1 great on the Single Expert chart for Mesmerizer. Another drainer of a 15, with some 16th rhythms to spice it up! Glad they got this license, even if there are other licenses I prefer...

A Great Full Combo on the Single Challenge chart for Holic. Ooh that minijack section that can be done as footswitches or crossovers! That in particular is quite cool! Fun 15 outside of that. I probably did this after rabbit hole, so it's piffable for sure!

Have some 15s, where I got to the 99th one! Max 300 is about to fall any time now...

A Perfect Full Combo with 23 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Midnight Amaretto. Now that's a raise! 28 perfect raise while breaking in one of my new pairs of shoes! Very fun chart, absolutely wasn't expecting to time it that well!

A Perfect Full Combo with 12 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Red by Full Metal Jacket. Finally, the raise I needed. 27 perfect raise - great chart, but the Challenge chart really takes it home. Getting the SDP wouldn't be too much of a stretch from here 👀

A Perfect Full Combo with 11 perfects on Hana ranman -Flowers-. Few tricky bursts on this one, still kinda fun! Could be a good 1st pfc candidate, if the bursts are fine and the late sync isn't much of a problem. Definitely wasn't expecting to MA it that well on the first PFC - this was right after P2 at this arcade acted up too!

A Perfect Full Combo with 19 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Confeito concerto. 130 white, with 1p for a good chunk of the first half? Man that was definitely good! Fumbled the second half in terms of the MA, but this is still a fantastic run! This was a 6 perfect raise, which I will absolutely take.

A Perfect Full Combo with 9 perfects on the Single Expert chart for X-ray binary. This was definitely a very surprising SDP - very fun chart but there's quite a bit going on! I'll take that huge raise (from 36p or something iirc) That takes my SP13 SDP count to 26!

A Perfect Full Combo with 8 perfects on the Single Difficult chart for Not Alone. Idk why I thought there was gonna be some 16th minijacks at the end - maybe I was thinking about the DDP chart too much... The references were mostly fine here though! With that, that takes my SP13 SDP count to 27!

A Perfect Full Combo with 7 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Kiss Kiss Kiss Akiba koubou mix. Turns out I've never gotten around to playing this chart until now - it was fine enough. Got patterns that sometimes flow, but sometimes leaves you in an awkward position. Otherwise, this is a new SP12 SDP, taking me up to 51 SDPs!

A Perfect Full Combo with 6 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Be Lovin. Got this while I was going for the unlock for Be Lovin Challenge - definitely wasn't expecting to keep my MA on that, considering the stepjumps! That ended up being my 50th SP12 SDP, which is a great milestone for me!

Had some pretty productive sessions during the festive season after I got home from the US - pretty happy with the haul on the whole!

Trying to close out Max 300 ESP for #100, hoping to close it out soon! Also, new shoe buff doing wonders 💪

A score of 974,380 (105 perfects, 16 greats, 1 good and 9 misses) on the Single Expert chart for Quaver. Stamina + footspeed + stepjump check! Couldn't quite keep up with all the stepjumps today, but that's how it be sometimes... It's over 970k at least, so there's that going for it!

A score of 928,330 (191 perfects, 67 greats, 6 goods and 27 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Diavolo. Not too bad for an 18, but it's still a big stamina drainer. Once I improve that a bit more, then I can see 950k+ on this easily. Very fun chart, it's not the most demanding in the footspeed department considering the various 180bpm+ 18s out there. And honestly that's a pretty good thing!

A Perfect Full Combo with 58 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Stay Gold. Not a personal best, but it felt GOOD to get the PFC on this again. I love the gimmicks on this chart, and hitting the brief 16th runs in the middle slowdowns felt really nice in my flyknits! Only missed opportunity would have been to do this on Flare EX, but that's OK!

An update to my DDR WORLD profile, with 86,307 flare points for Singles! (which puts me at Sun+++, the second highest rank you can possibly get) Played Unreal ESP and Rensen Ryouran CSP to close out the Flare EX clears on both of em! SP World rank will be a while away, as I am not at a point where a Flare EX on a 17 is feasible, let alone multiple.

For now, I can't wait to see what my new pairs of dance game shoes (still haven't tried the other pair I bought) have in store for me when I get home!

A score of 981,630 (112 perfects, 20 greats, 1 good and 2 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for CyberConnect. All I can say is WOW. I definitely wasn't expecting to hold combo through the second half with the footswitches and stepjumps! And with only 2 misses to boot? I can see a good raise to the AAA mark, it'll be tough but it would be INSANE to get.

A score of 988,320 (74 perfects, 7 greats and 5 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Red by Full Metal Jacket. Very nice 17, with footswitches galore! Most of the misses were in the big down switches - just wasn't lifting my feet high enough for em. PFCing this wouldn't be a stretch, but it would need to cook a bit more before I consider it.

The chart is great too :D Miss was in one of the bursts near the end - I kinda expected to get a miss there tbh. With that, that's a new SP16 AAA (#145)

Ok we got some pretty big rips on these - especially CyberConnect! And Sakazuki too!

A Life4 clear and AAA run with 84 perfects, 8 greats and 1 miss on the Single Expert chart for Is this dance a Hakken? Man, I thought there was a gradual slowdown/speedup in this chart when I first played this. Turns out there isn't! But I managed to land the AAA in the end (would have been nice to get a full combo too). Quite an interesting chart, I enjoyed the little 16th bursts and I do appreciate that they don't go beyond 5 notes. But I think they can make a way harder chart for this later down the line! That's for another day though. In any case, it's a new SP16 AAA (#143)!

A Life4 clear with a score of 977,790 (123 perfects, 25 greats and 2 misses) on the Single Challenge chart for Come Back To Me. This one's hard. At least it's less ambiguous than the Single Expert chart - but this chart goes SO HARD in some places where maybe I would have eased off a little if I charted this. Kinda fun, but hoo boy. I can definitely raise this once I'm home, hoping to get 980k first, and then a AAA down the line!

A Great Full Combo with 63 perfects and 9 greats on the Single Expert chart for Fly Like You. This is in a little bit of an awkward spot, where they needed to hold back on the 24ths that the CSP has. And then this chart shows up. Low notecount makes this a tough one to score (on top of the bpm changes near the end) - but I like it! Haven't had a recent low notecount 15 in a while - so to see this finally appear in arcade DDR is a neat change of pace! I could PFC this once I lock in a bit more...

Maybe I was reading slightly too slow, but I couldn't quite keep up with the patterns on the second half. Oh well... This is still a very fun 16, and I definitely think a pfc wouldn't be impossible!

A Perfect Full Combo with 39 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Red by Full Metal Jacket. On the rare occasion I get to play on a white J-cab, I somehow manage to pull a pfc near the end of it! Can definitely improve the MA - but I'll take it for being jet-lagged right after a trip to Tampa!

A Great Full Combo with 59 perfects and 5 greats on the Single Expert chart for Setsujou danka. Quite a fun chart - love the 12ths in it near the start and end! Might close this one out with some effort...

A Perfect Full Combo with 53 perfects on the Single Expert chart for Time to Hyperdrive. And all I wanted was a green lamp! Rushed everything like crazy, and I definitely got taxed (had a 31p, 1g and 2gd run because I messed up the slowdown after the long drill that time) With that being said, that's a new SP15 PFC for me (#97). Not too far away from the triple digits now!

A Great Full Combo with 87 perfects and 3 greats on the Single Challenge chart for Warera kanzen muteki no idol!! Very borderline 15 that I'm glad I got so close on. If those drills had been staircases or something, that might tip it into 16 territory. Or if those marked footswitches were anymore complex... Took a bit of a grind, but it's a fun chart - so that definitely helped 😅

A clear on the Expert chart for Cosmic V3locity on Singles. 924k first try isn't too bad - love how I have more misses than greats though (as is signature for me atm) Once I can hit longer 200 bpm streams, then this will definitely be way better!

A clear on the Challenge chart for Rampage Hero on Singles, with 84 perfects, 7 greats and 4 misses. Turns out I can still play some 17s well! I hit both of the tell jumps this time, and I'm pretty sure I PFCd both of them. The MA was surprisingly nice, and single digit greats on a 17 is huge! There's definitely a full combo on the way 😤

A Great Full Combo with 62 perfects and 3 greats on the Expert chart for My Drama on Doubles. It's a lot more broken up than the singles, but shares a lot in common with it! Not quite as easy to MA for me (yet), but it'll get there!

Yeah, I don't really love this chart - there's something about the 16th streams that doesnt feel right to me, but the ending is nice! (Challenge chart when) This was a 2 perfect raise, while this isn't too bad, it could be a bit better...

A Great Full Combo with 17 perfects and 1 great on the Difficult chart for New Decade on Singles. Haven't played this chart in a hot while, but this was very fun to play yet again! The great was in one of the minijacks near the end. Would have been a neat raise too!

A Great Full Combo with 24 perfects and 2 greats on the Expert chart for Like a Star on Singles. Not a bad run on this, considering I haven't seen this chart in ages. Just a solid banger 14! Not quite my PB but still solid!

A Perfect Full Combo with 32 perfects on the Expert chart for London Evolved version A on Singles. This was a 5 perfect raise! I was not expecting a raise at all - even though I knew that there was a big slowdown and a long stream afterwards. Definitely nice to see a little glow up, especially on this chart!

A couple of SP14 raises, with some great MA and change on New Decade and Like a Star!

Haven't played London A since I closed it out during the 14 gold grind, so it's great to see a raise on it 😄

A Great Full Combo with 49 perfects and 2 greats on the Expert chart for Double Tornard on Singles. This was a really cool run, still need to work on my box runs though... On the other hand, the crossovers felt fine!

A Great Full Combo with 24 perfects and 2 greats on the Expert chart for Zeta on Singles. 160 white. Holy shit this was a cracked run 😳 Of course I lost that huge raise to the final streams, but this is just standard fare for this chart. But when everything lines up, I can definitely see a big raise on this 👀

A Flare EX clear with 44 perfects, 1 great and 1 miss on the Expert chaft for Knight of Knights on Single. The one with the doublesteppy intro, eh... Funnily enough I actually piffed that, the great and the miss were in the middle! It's a lower hanging 15 to close out, so perhaps it'll happen soon 👀

A Great Full Combo with 64 perfects and 2 greats on the Expert chart for Brilliant 2U (AKBK mix) on Singles. Bumped this by some perfects - it's fun but very exhausting! Glad I played this one early on, it definitely boded well for the rest of today.

Some very close SP15s - nearly got a solid raise on Zeta, and pfcs on 3 others!

Oh boy the progression to this was kinda insane haha, here's how it went: 22p 1g -> 18p -> 17p -> 14p -> 10p Very fun chart, and locking in on this is quite good - I can see this being my 1st 15 SDP! This is a new 15 PFC on Singles (#94)!

This was in the making for quite a bit, ever since I flagged it a while back it's been sitting there waiting for a close out! And it finally happened on my 1st try today 😁 This is also a new 15 PFC on Singles for me (#95), not too far away from triple digits now 👀

A Perfect Full Combo with 46 perfects on the Difficult chart for New Millennium on Singles. Third times the charm, as they say! Nearly got it in one but then I got 2 greats on the "revolution" part at the end... And the second attempt was me fumbling two drills in the middle with 1 great in each. Persistence can pay off, if you know where you picked up your perfects/greats/goods/misses + how to fix it! This is also a new 15 PFC on Singles too (#96), and the 3rd from this sesh!

A Great Full Combo with 62 perfects and 2 greats on the Expert chart for Tokyo Evolved Type 1 on Singles. My goodness, this was a RUN - took 2 earlier attempts to figure out where all the stops are (and how the sync changes too) - but in the end, I got a solid raise! This was a raise from like 990/991k - but this is definitely one in the rotation pile now 😤

Got 3 new SP15 PFCs in one day (#94-96), and boy they were exciting! Those triple digits are on the way 💯

And I almost closed out Tokyo 1 - it's cooking, that's for sure

A Perfect Full Combo with 33 perfects on the Expert chart for Ghost Kingdom on Singles. While I didn't quite get the results screen in time, this was still a very sizable raise (by 12 or 13 perfects iirc) - about time I got a slightly better run on this! This is definitely not a particularly easy 14 to time, but it's a fun one!

A Flare EX clear with 49 perfects, 8 greats and 1 miss on the Expert chart for Max 300 on Singles. Ah yes, the 15 that started it all. Glad to have the EX on this one! I tried a ghost step strat to time the stop and it worked so well 😁 Later on, I tried this with the DSP later on in the sesh and I also nailed that! (I screwed up a doublestep just before the stop, but still) In any case, this will bode well when I try to PFC the ESP as my 100th 15 on Singles (if I don't get anything else before then)

A Great Full Combo with 74 perfects and 5 greats on the Expert chart for Not Alone on Singles. Kept gold until one of the Paranoia Hades crossovers! While I've played the doubles counterpart to this more recently (and much closer to closing that out), I think that helped a fair bit with this chart. While I can't say I love this chart, the song slaps hard!

A Flare EX clear with 50 perfects, 4 greats and 1 miss on the Difficult chart for Valkyrie Dimension on Singles. Well would you look at that! Gold until 300 (sometime after the second rocket). I tried this chart earlier that day and lost the Flare EX run on the final drill - so this was great payback! I would say that this is something I could try for a PFC, but probably not at the moment...

A Perfect Full Combo with 48 perfects on the Challenge chart for Flower on Singles. While I had a run with better perfects (I think it was in the 30s), I'm surprised that I managed that in one attempt that day! It's been a PFC I've wanted for a while, so I'm glad I closed it out 😄 This is also a new 15 PFC on Singles for me (#92)! [Or it could be my 1st sp17 pfc, based on the X3 ratings...]

A Great Full Combo with 61 perfects and 2 greats on the Challenge chart for Chronos on Singles. This felt quite nice, actually! Probably needed to read slightly faster to force myself to hit later, but this was still really good - I actually remembered to face right for the second chorus! In any case, this is one for the PFC rotation pile!

A Great Full Combo with 59 perfects and 5 greats on the Challenge chart for Wow Wow Venus on Singles. What's this? A new 16 Flare EX clear?! Held gold until the mini tell jumps, as per usual for this chart. The MA was surprisingly decent though - it's a very fun but fair 16! One day I'll try and close this out, but for now this is a solid start!

A Perfect Full Combo with 43 perfect on the Expert chart for Go to the Oasis on Singles. Last set of the day and I just wanted to try this for fun - wasn't expecting to PFC it right then and there! Those 12th runs at the end were so shaky, I probably picked up a bunch of them there. I couldn't be more happier with this though - this is also a new 15 PFC on Singles! (#93) Only 7 more of those until the big triple digits...

Then I went to one of the arcades near downtown on Friday and worked on raising my Singles Flare skill - I managed to finish with 86k points!

Sun+++ isn't far now, just need to try and Flare EX some older 15s + 16s and I think I've got it! World is another story though...

with 43 perfects, 1 great and 1 miss on the Difficult chart for Ambivalent Vermilia on Singles. Pretty happy with this - I think this only my 2nd time trying this chart, so it's great to see that I could PFC this when it becomes unlockable!

A Perfect Full Combo with 17 perfects on the Challenge chart for Paranoia Rebirth X Special on Singles. Small bump of 3 perfects, but we take those! Getting used to doublestepping things again, so it's cool to see I can still time this chart quite well 😁

A Great Full Combo with 45 perfects and 2 greats on the Expert chart for Arrabbiata on Singles. I think I got a good shuffle when I tried this chart, cause that was like 340 gold 😤 Should everything line up, a PFC will probably happen sometime soon - glad to see that I'm remembering the singles counterparts to some of the uppers!

A Perfect Full Combo with 17 perfects on the Difficult chart for Electronic Sports Complex on Singles. About time I got a better run on this chart, this was a solid 11p raise! Definitely a few tricky parts there, especially those brief 12th jacks near the end. I think I can get this to a SDP, but that's for future me! Still stoked with that run 💪

While they're a far cry from my PBs, some of them were pretty close! If anything, I'm glad that I can still play them relatively decently 😅

A Perfect Full Combo with 1 perfect on the Expert chart for Dazzlin Darlin AKBK mix on Singles. Holy shit this was so good - the perfect was on a candle near the end (DLU). It would have been even better to close it out right then and there, but I'll take a near MFC!

A Perfect Full Combo with 28 perfects on the Difficult chart for 3y3s on Singles. About time I closed this out, still rushed it like crazy though... Considering I don't have regular access to this song yet, this is still amazing MA!

A Great Full Combo with 65 perfects and 3 greats on the Expert chart for Shakunetsu Part 2 Long Train Running on Singles. Another solid run, I think this my first full combo on this chart! Considering I tend to get misses on harder charts, getting a full combo is a big deal for me. Definitely cooking with some of those 16s, that's for sure

A Great Full Combo with 87 perfects and 6 greats on the Expert chart for Comet Skater on Singles. Oh my goodness, this was a RUN. I was cutting it close with that Flare EX clear - one more perfect and that would have sent me down to Flare IX! While I don't mind this chart, it's definitely not easy to time... And the 995k money score is just the cherry on top 🔥

Gonna start with some stuff from Monday, pretty happy with some of the second Triple Tribe runs I got 😁

A clear with a score of 957,450 (AA+) on the Expert chart for Soflan-chan on Singles. Oh this chart is a tough one to score on (as I expected it to be) - this took 3 tries to get it to my Single 17 floor (currently at 956k at the time of this post) Surprised I walked out with 4 misses, definitely want to raise this down the line!

A Perfect Full Combo with 30 perfects on the Expert chart for Punisher on Singles. I was surprised it ended up being that good - especially when I was playing on a gold cabinet (on an already early song) Still a bit more room for improvement but I'm satisfied with the MA!

A Great Full Combo on the Expert chart for Hi Tech Tokio on Singles - with 56 perfects and 2 greats. Very fun but draining 15 - I didn't see many breaks where I didn't need to hit any arrows... But I managed to keep 530 gold - definitely another one to the pile!

A triple A run on the Challenge chart for Saber Wing Satellite Silhouette Remix on Singles - with 43 perfects, 1 great and 1 miss. This run felt amazing, definitely felt my form lock in on the long staircase run in the middle! I think I missed on a jump, and the great was probably random. In any case, that MA was great!

And some stuff from last Friday where I played a lot of Sound Voltex before doing a few sets of DDR - got to try 2 of the new songs from that event for the first time!

Still got a while to go before I get Cosmic Velocity, but I think it's manageable.

A Perfect Full Combo with 13 perfects on the Challenge chart for Akatsuki on Singles. Very fun chart, especially with those crossover minijacks into freeze patterns!

A Perfect Full Combo with 46 perfects on the Expert chart for Spring Pony on Singles. This is a new singles 15 pfc for me! (#91) How fitting to play this chart the day before one of the public holidays in my area (it's the Melbourne Cup day, if anyone's interested) Forgot this was very late, even reading at 630! I think I remembered it was late but not specifically how late... There's only 9 more till the big triple digits, I might get Max 300 as that milestone - as some of the others I have in mind are much harder than that...

A triple A run on the Expert chart for Odore! Virtual animal on Singles - with 51 perfects, 1 great and 1 miss. Oh boy. This was so close to the PFC - lost it on the final box run into drill! Very happy with that run, hoping to convert it someday!

A Great Full Combo on the Expert chart for This is My Last Resort on Singles - with 51 perfects and 3 greats. We take those small money score bumps - this run I lost the PFC to the second of the two consecutive drills in the middle. Definitely a contender for the pile 👀

Here's some highlights from last week - I got to play with someone from interstate on Monday and had a blast! It was great to meet them for the first time and just see how amazing they did in front of me 😁

A clear with a score of 870,060 on the Expert chart for Reincarnation on Singles. Footspeed goes BRRRR - while I felt like I barely had any control, I managed to regain my 870k SP18 floor! Definitely can get 900k eventually, but this is a good start towards that 💪

A Perfect Full Combo with 13 perfects on the Expert chart for MVP on Singles. This chart feels like the My Summer Love of the SP13s, it's even the same speed and everything! And it felt very well synced too - so this is definitely a very approachable chart if anyone wants to try a 13 😁 I can definitely get a SDP on this (and possibly the doubles), just gotta lock in even more

A score of 980,360 on the Challenge chart for Step This Way on Singles. Not a bad first play, all things considered! Definitely can improve this to a AAA (and a PFC down the line). This is definitely a fairly good stream practice chart at a moderately fast BPM, gonna need to revisit this many times haha And this chart is DEFINITELY harder to execute than the Expert - I think the difference is night and day (8 note box runs at most vs staircase streams mixed with boxes), even if the Expert chart is more technical.

A AAA run with 37 perfects, 4 greats and 1 miss on Firestorm ESP. Managed to walk away with the Flare 9 clear, although something tells me that a Flare EX on this chart isn't impossible 👀 And that MA was hot too 🔥 This is part of my goal of chipping away at trying to Flare 9 (and eventually EX) all the SP16s - it's tricky (considering some of the SP16s in there) but not impossible! I think this goal is a relatively good balance between timing stuff and trying to work on the physical aspects of singles charts - here's hoping that it does happen 🫡

Now that I've mostly figured out how I should approach my singles form, I think it's now a matter of continuing to refine it - here's hoping we start seeing some more SP16 PFCs and maybe some SP17s 👀

A Perfect Full Combo with 10 perfects on the Expert chart for Disco Tokyo on Singles. Raised this from mid-20 perfects, I had quite a few sub 20p runs cooking but didn't quite convert them until Tuesday! Man that felt AMAZING - and the fact I nailed most of that? Oh boy 🔥 Very fun chart, definitely wanna try and SDP it at some point 😄

A Perfect Full Combo with 15 perfects on the Expert chart for Flip Flap on Singles. What a fun 12th note heavy chart - those streams just go so hard, and with barely any crossovers - it's just amazing to hit the notes (even with it being quite late) I remember getting sub 20 on this before, but with 1 or 2 greats, it was fantastic to finally close it out!

A Perfect Full Combo with 14 perfects on the Expert chart for Revolution on Singles. Finally, a sub 20 perfect run! When I played this...2 weeks ago(?), I knew it was quite late but I didn't remember how late. That and I tried hitting some crosses where doublestepping/footswitching would have been better for MA. When I put that into practice, it went SO HARD! Still don't quite know how to hit the jumps at the end without my form going everywhere, but it's something I can improve.

A Perfect Full Combo with 15 perfects on the Challenge chart for New Gravity on Singles. Raised this from 31 perfects - considering how awkward this chart is, and how many box runs it has (something I'm working on), this was actually a fantastic run! Definitely bodes well for handling songs at the 150-160 bpm range - hope I can expand that range down the line

Then some other 14s on Tuesday! Definitely wasn't expecting to MA all four of these so hard 😱

A Perfect Full Combo with 12 perfects on the Expert chart for My Drama. Oh my goodness that was a RUN. I picked up 2 perfects in the first half, then didn't pick up another one until the long right jack. At that point I was tired and ducked down a little bit more than I needed to for the minijacks (and rushed em), but this is now my 2nd highest SP15 (from 20 perfects!) Definitely a contender for that SP15 SDP now 👀

A Great Full Combo with 20 perfects and 2 greats on the Difficult chart for Reincarnation on Singles. This was part of my last set on Tuesday's sesh, where I wanted to see how I would fare on footspeed heavy charts - let's just say that my eyes nearly popped out when I saw the perfect count! One great was in the middle slowdown, and the other in the ending jacks! However, I definitely felt myself ducking down a bit with the jacks, so still gotta try and improve that... While I might get MA taxed when I do get the PFC, boy this is definitely a fantastic proof of concept when the stars lign up 😁

A AAA run with 36 perfects, 1 great and 1 miss on the Expert chart for This is My Last Resort on Singles. While I thought I forgot some of the gimmicks, I'm surprised that I got through them mostly unscathed! I only picked up one great in the middle, and then I missed the long down jack near the end... Definitely could Flare EX when I inevitably do get to it, but I am more than happy with this one!

A Perfect Full Combo with 32 perfects on the Expert chart for Respec Fujin on Singles. This was a 2 perfect raise - and a comfy lil 15 that hits a lot of soft spots for a chart in the 15 folder 😁

A Perfect Full Combo with 19 perfects on the Expert chart for Pump Pump Pump on Singles. This was a huge raise from 43 perfects iirc, definitely locked in pretty well on this! Loved my MA on this, it definitely bodes well for bigger rips on my singles arc :D

A Perfect Full Combo with 23 perfects on the Expert chart for Nanahoshi on Singles. Raised this from 37 perfects, and I definitely felt myself using my arms more often during the longer bursts! I only noticed this after my sesh, but the 2 7s in the money score are very fitting, if you know what I mean...

A Perfect Full Combo with 32 perfects on the Expert chart for CyberConnect on Singles. Raised this from 44 perfects, and BOY this was a good run - I think I MFCd most of the right facing bursts in the second half! In any case, this was pretty great MA

A Great Full Combo with 50 perfects and 1 great on the Challenge chart for Gravity Collapse on Singles. This was a neat raise, and I got the great in one of the 24th bursts in the second drill half, but not the last one. And I think I've gotten Perfects or better on that burst in other attempts, so this is really a matter of time!

Last week was all about trying the towel on the bar and using my arms more often for harder sections - and it paid off!
