My slides are definitely prettier than they've ever been. As for vibe coding, I'm on a team that codes in Python - trying to write a prompt is more work than just writing the code
My rule of thumb is to automate away the parts of the job I don't want to do. AI does a good enough slide deck, meeting notes, performance self-review. Won't miss doing any of those manually.
Also my 11/yo can't talk to her friends on Roblox now, because facial recognition-based aged verification marked her as an adult.
My kids get extremist right wing content from "logged out" experiences, parental controls have been effectively removed from YouTube, and my kid wants to download a social media app made by a company with as far as I can tell 6 employees from Eastern Europe.
Happy Labrador Day, I hope your day was filled with Canadians and dogs

Sorry, LABOR Day, I hope you passed a small human out of your body in a relatively non-punishing way

This is Tuffy. He is the only example of taking up the whole sidewalk that is not only justifiable, but encouraged. 14/10 (IG: mypittuffy)
Amateurs, they should put a sleep in the script and return a different script if it reads too fast.
Is the whole "difference between brands of tubes" thing an inside joke among amp builders?
I A/B listened to each of the sound clips in this article, and they sound completely identical to me

This is really good, and in particular, I would never use Go's encoding/xml for anything security-sensitive.

David R. Hagen just solved a small mystery that I mentioned 13 years ago in the mouseover text of a comic drhagen.com/blog/the-mis...
Fingerprint recognition is the worst I've used in decades though
The "AI" that we've got now is basically universal auto-complete. So if what you're making is "the same game, but..." then you can definitely get to the working demo phase a lot faster.
The ideal two person podcast has one fairly upbeat normie (usually the host) and one grump who loves to complain. Unbeatable formula.
They went the other way - people that preferred the snapped universe and wanted to get rid of the now-restored extra people.

Pick a Movie, and we'll erase all memory of it's content and story from your mind and replace it with an urge to watch it.
What movie do you pick? Just one!

Maybe ZFS has changed over the years, but I can tell you right now that ZFS and I are NOT friends.

New: Do some political conversations on Twitter strike you as a little less than authentic? For the first time, researchers have uncovered a coordinated LLM network of nearly 700 fake accounts devoted to gumming up Twitter replies to advocate for specific GOP races:

it's me, the bitch who's writing about copyright again www.theverge.com/c/24239057/m...
Possibly stupid question - since this this became law by a court ruling, does that mean that prosecutors can go back as far in time as the law passing, rather than the time of the court ruling to find people to charge?
The explanation seems reasonable to me. Last minute compliance work isn't the most inspiring environment to deliver new features in, hopefully they figure out the right way to bring it back.
NOBODY CARES IF YOU ACT LIKE AN ASSHOLE, ANDY. YOU’RE AN NFL COACH. BUT IF I, LIKE, LEAVE THE TOILET SEAT UP, THE NEXT DAY THE NUMBER ONE SONG IN THE GODDAMNED WORLD IS “OH APPARENTLY TOILET SEATS ARE MYSTERIOUS.” DO YOU KNOW HOW PARANOID THAT MAKES ME
