I’ve thought about this a lot over the years. I see myself as an observer of these spaces that were there before me and will be there after me. Wide angles create spaces that feel big and expansive. It shows that imperfections are a part of our world and coexist with everything else.

I didn’t expect to love 24mm as a focal length. In 2022, I challenged myself to test a few primes to figure out what I liked. I was surprised to find that it was the 24mm. (the 85mm is the companion lens).

And to elaborate on why I like Waymos: they make me less sick in terms of driving, they make me less sick because a human has not decided they want their car to smell like a cologne factory, I feel more safe, because there is no human that can potentially harass me who also now knows where I live...

Plus, in a big city traffic situation, I 100% trust Asians who drive in more chaotic traffic daily over some dude in the Midwest..

Waymos do get stuck, and someone remotes in and gets it out of that specific situation. They are not being remotely driven for any real amount of time... HUMANS DO NOT DRIVE LIKE WAYMOS, unless Filipinos are utterly godlike at driving..

Unpopular opinion: I LIKE WAYMOS, and people weighing in don't read beyond headlines AND have never taken a Waymo...

Journalist Georgia Fort, who was covering the same protest as Don Lemon, was also arrested this morning, according to a live video she recorded as agents at her door demanded her surrender.

Taiwan is full of 小巷 (alleyways) between buildings, creating their own little spaces for scooter parking and secret shortcuts through the city… I really enjoy them

The crowds were kind enough to back-up for the photos I did capture there, including ones that are in focus, but do not feature a rubber ducky boat (sadly)... There are other beautiful things here to photograph, however, that feel quite peaceful, including the beautiful Hakone-jinja Shrine.

You need a pretty wide lens, people are in giant rubber ducky boats on the water, and the Koreans are waiting behind you... I got a long exposure of a red rubber ducky boat, but it was handheld, so it's not totally in focus. I think it embodies the vibe...

Is there a photo that you LOVE but it's not perfect, and there is no chance for another shot?

Ironically, Torii of Peace at the Hakone-jinja Shrine in Japan is notoriously chaotic to photograph without crowds...

Asian aunties hovering over braised foods

In Taiwan, we have street markets frequently where people sell produce, meat and seafood, and prepared foods.

This stand was really popular with all of the aunties. I had to go see what the fuss was about. This must be the best braised food stand…

I've been trying to figure out what I'm doing here. While I engage in your news and advocacy content, I don't have the capacity to add to it meaningfully right now.

I love photography, and it has been a lifelong way that I regulate and walk through the world as neurodivergent...

Obedience to a hostile regime does not protect you. They were never going to protect you.

Doing work every day in a space that did not capitulate and instead protected our trans community has been one of the beautiful things that has come out of this year.

I also work in other capacities with organizations that submitted, and it has only gotten worse for them.
