I like to keep them original.
The polarized film on the LCD is starting to deteriorate on these radios, too. If the faceplate smells like vinegar, it's most likely dying.

This one uses a dial string that is a nightmare to replace...
Complete redesign. II still shared some things from I. This one doesn't.

The original is quite different.
Besides the design difference...
Tone control changed quite a bit. And there was the Flamingo III.
