Still so funny that this incredible work of fan art is what kickstarted the career of the guy who created Evangelion.
Oh suddenly we’re not WARFIGHTERS?
Wait, THIS is how Nintendo finally acknowledges the existence of Wart for the first time since Link’s Awakening?
(Also, Mouser! And a shitload of Ninji! I’m assuming they all just show up in a joke dream sequence.)

Different in Pokopia compared to what?
From Larry Hama’s sole example of writing in this particular galaxy.
Also odd that Fable - another groundbreaking western action RPG that promised incredible narrative freedom - ended with a third installment fueled by a “Kingdom/Galactic Readiness” meter you had to fill by wrapping up sidequests as you waited for an invasion.
Folks were justified in being pissed off about the A/B/C red/blue/green endings thing, but even before that, you had characters hopping around without explanation and all sorts of narrative mayhem - that whole finale had clearly been cut to ribbons in the rush the get the game out the door.
Oofa doo.
Bummer that a series that started off as a thoughtful RPG tribute to Star Trek (and 70s sci-fi) in general finished as an “OMG WE MUST REINFORCE PURE HOMELAND EARTH AGAINST THE FILTHY ALIEN INVADERS” Halo knockoff, and that’s before you even start talking about that busted-ass ending.
Of course, some of this stuff overlaps, and then I also have weirdly specific tarots ("MAN VS SELF", which is Ed Wood and The Invisible Man, or "SOCIAL HORROR /MALFUNCTIONING SYSTEM" in Zodiac.)
When forced to select a specific number of favorite horror movies, I tend to imagine myself splaying out a deck of tarot cards on a table, with each pick fulfilling a specific role: "THE GHOST", "THE VAMPIRE", etc.
Top Ten Horror Movies:
The Invisible Man (1933)
Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
An American Werewolf in London (1981)
Return of the Living Dead (1985)
Interview With A Vampire (1994)
Ed Wood (1994)
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Zodiac (2007)
Crimson Peak (2015)

Revel in Nintendo nostalgia as I attempt to track down the first instance of Nintendo crossing over one franchise with another.
Eh, the movies definitely started looking more plastic as the sequels wore on - the bluescreen in Last Crusade is atrocious (almost as bad as Mola Ram’s fall in ToD) and the grail temple interiors look like something from The Goonies.
Lucas is still talking about making anywhere from 9-12 Star Wars movies while trying to figure out how the next films will introduce Luke’s long-lost sister.
In 6 months he announces that he’s wrapping everything up with one more movie called Revenge of the Jedi so he can retire and raise kids.
