My morning commute.
My morning commute.
Congratulations! So exciting!
This is why I use traffic cones to force sharper and slower turns around our school. Big vehicles with higher and blunter front ends are especially dangerous to children.
New study finds that "vehicles with large driver-side blind zones are much more likely to strike crossing pedestrians while turning left."
Which vehicles have big driver-side blind zones? Those with thick A-pillars, bulky side mirrors, and tall hoods—i.e., big SUVs and trucks.
A cyclist on a sidewalk is usually a symptom of bad infrastructure.
As I often say, cyclist vs. pedestrian conflicts arise because both are fighting over the scraps of space not occupied by cars. But what if we took that space from cars to make biking, walking, and rolling safer?
Although this is a convenient route to many of my destinations, I don’t use it all that often - for the obvious reasons. Definitely not my first experience like this.
It’s tough to judge speed with video - especially wide angle cameras.
Driver operating a large truck at 40mph in a 20mph zone. It’s the difference between life and death.
When the “Neighborhood Bikeway” has ZERO traffic calming. Paint and signs will never be enough.
Right after my PM crossing guard shift, one block from school and on a street heavily used by children riding bikes. WTF?!??
Love it!
Always! Even riding in the freezing rain is fun with friends!
“That happens when he gets stuck across the lane while attempting to drive out to enter traffic, the owner said.”
Maybe drivers should look before crossing the sidewalk and bike lane.
Here's a thread about this piece of shit lump of journalism

No Kings rally. Denver 10.18.25.
A small waving skeleton sits on the rear rack of a bicycle.
She’s BAAAAACK!
That’s me and my @ternbicycles.com HSD eBike! It hauls a bunch and is a great winter ride. I go months without driving thanks to these fun and convenient vehicles!
I hear ya! It seemed especially tough this year.
Sorry to hear that! I had a family who was so bummed out that they had to drive today because they almost always walk or bike to school. The kids love taking part in the fun!
253 bicycles/scooters around the school for #WalkBikeRollToSchoolDay! A chilly 40° morning too! 🎉
You do what you gotta do.
Monthly allergy shots by bike. There are no bike racks on this car-free side of the building, but the bench works.
YAY! IT’S PREMIERE DAY: Please tune in today, Tuesday, Oct 7th, at 2 pm EST / 12 noon MST, for this special profile of Denver’s Park Hill Elementary Bike Bus and Crossing Guard Experience featuring Liz Brodahl and Nicole McSpirit aka @goingdutchdenver.bsky.social, respectively

What a great week for the PHE Bike Bus! 121 bikes/scooters parked around the school on Wednesday and 156 today! We got a bunch of racks last year, but are already in need of more. A good problem to have!
Congratulations!
A neighborhood street next to an elementary school with traffic cones used to block illegal parking near crosswalks and narrow the lanes to slow cars and reduce pedestrian crossing distance.
We’ve shown that temporary measures can physically slow drivers and restrict illegal and dangerous parking. Now imagine if we installed permanent infrastructure, like bulb-outs, diverters and raised crosswalks, to prioritize street safety 24/7.
I know three of these amazing people and their patience & dedication is incredible
Driver entitlement isn't new but @goingdutchdenver.bsky.social's use of cones should show DOTs the best way to enforce good driving is with barriers that stop bad driving without debate

Unless you’re made of sugar, you won’t melt in the rain.
I mount my Insta360 camera to my handlebars with a PGYTech mount. Very easy and secure. I tilt it off to the side a bit to capture more of the rear view.
Same goes for Kirk’s actual words. You can only quote him if you’re praising him, not criticizing him.
