Here in Detroit, give to the Ruth Ellis Center. They focus on supporting LGBT folks, with a deep commitment to intersectionality & justice.
Clement βFameβ Brown Jr. is doing something special at THREE THIRTEEN right here in Detroit.
Also great! "That's why I think we should fund libraries more. It's not just because they're a great resource, it's because I don't wanna know what librarians will do if we don't give them a place to go."
Shout out to the Linwood - where I am finally binding off on this project.

Events like this, at a private golf club, show where the city's priorities lie when it comes to further enriching the lives and experiences of people who do not live in this city at the expense of those who do.
Dozens of cars parked in the Palmer Park bike lanes for the PGA tournament at the private Detroit Golf Club, with open parking on both sides of the street.
Hey @michaelduggan.bsky.social @cityofdetroit.bsky.social why are Detroit Police and PGA staff directing people to park in the 'protected' bike lane through Palmer Park when there is open available parking on both sides of the street already?
Just got re-outraged at the fact that in 1982, a judge sentenced the murderers of Vincent Chin to probation and a $3,000 fine, saying they βwerenβt the kind of men you send to jail.β
A new street sign honoring Chin was recently unveiled in Chinatown. outliermedia.org/vincent-chin...
My new options, if I don't want to transfer, are taking the Linwood, which only comes once an hour, or a farther walk, which is tough when time is short in the morning.
I'm glad the analysis makes the decision making transparent, but as a frequent rider, there should have been notices posted at the stop about the potential change prior to public comment.
This brings up another issue which is that UDM is largely disconnected from the community via their own fencing.
Currently looking at DDOT's service change equity analysis published this month for the Dexter route. It looks like the reasoning was to move the route to the front of UDM's campus.
Had to take the walk of shame this morning: walking home to drive to work rather than take the bus.
The worst part is that I still got to work earlier than if I had taken the bus I intended to catch.
A sign depicting a route change to the #16 Dexter that moves the route off Fairfield and also will serve the Old Redford Meijer.
Come on, DDOT!!
The #16 Dexter route no longer services my stop. This is the high frequency route that I use to get downtown to work. Feeling disappointed.

Yes! True!
That's awesome! Thanks for your work on it.
This is a cool story about a restoring a native ecosystem near Detroit's Poletown East neighborhood. Really enjoyed the bird sounds in the background of the audio recording. π¦

There are a lot of bad things happening all at once, and itβs overwhelming to think about how to meet moments like this.
Jean says to focus on 1 or 2 things that you care about, understand fairly well, and are either local or involve a topic where youβre likely to have influence and find community
Happy to hear this news π
What?! Don't you know better?!
Feel better soon!
Once again highlighting the importance of libraries, in this case the most common provider of public restrooms.
