It was such a great experience to be part of creating this resources and I’m thrilled to announce their launch! Join us for a webinar! #ELANontario

The session about supporting MLLearners was excellent.

In the sense that each layout has considerable impact in how I perceive it.

Actually, maybe β€œobvious” more than clear.

Those are so interesting! The impact of layout on the narrative is so clear!

This makes me think of Star Trek TNG: Geordi would ask the ship’s computer questions b/c it could find answers faster; however, the viewer knew that Geordi had the skill set necessary to answer the questions, too.

Depends on its use, I suppose. For example, having AI create an essay outline that the student uses immediately may not help a student learn how to structure an argument; however, having AI create multiple outlines and then having students evaluate them can help students learn more about structure.

So, if we can leverage AI to better help students understand and implement a processβ€”creative, analytical, designβ€”that they can then use in other contexts, I’m definitely interested.

Perhaps another way to think about it is this: to what extent does using a given tool help me internalize a process that I can use in the future? A graphic organizer doesn’t write my work for me, but it can help me understand how to structure that work.

100%. If the product is the only thing that matters, then I might be tempted to use whatever helps me make the product quickly/easily.

Been thinking about this sort of thing in the context of learning/teaching: once we’ve identified the purpose of both in a given context, using AI to assist with the mundane elements is fine. The key learning/teaching still needs to be human.

I did a deep dive, too. Amazing content! BTW, I’ve worked with a few classes to have them produce interactive articles with ArcGIS. The ability to include maps, data, and other interactive is similar to the Reuters articles.

Cozy video games can quell stress and anxiety. Explore a charming town, meet quirky villagers, and take in the cozy vibes!

This is the kind of interactivity and form equaling function I’d love to see in online learning. @jasonhimsl.bsky.social

I know very little about narrative inquiry. How is supposed to, well, feel? Is like investigative journalism that uses one person’s narrative to explore a bigger issue?

I recommend having a coffee with a small group of people. Maybe a phd/curriculum coordinator type, a former engineer turned tech teacher, and, just spitballing here, a former associate teacher? @stevenpfloyd.bsky.social , anyone come to mind?

@feliciayong.bsky.social, @stevenpfloyd.bsky.social, and I have talked about Flow State before, but not Coyote time,
Invincibility frames,
Enemy awareness systems,
or Catch-up mechanics. Fascinating stuff!

One of the biggest challenges of 3D creation for edu is the platform. Thanks to @twinmotion.bsky.social and SharePoint Spaces, this project will run in browsers. Twinmotion also allows me to quickly change the weather settings. Test demo below… @steveisaacs.bsky.social @mtholfsen.bsky.social

We’ve been thinking a lot about this, too. What if a certain theory/genre is dominant when a candidate is in school? How does this shape their practice later on?

Exactly!

And what can I learn about a problem/issue/text by employing those lenses and perspectives?

03.01.2025 20:32 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely! @stevenpfloyd.bsky.social & I have had several conversations about how the engineering design process is really similar to the writing process. Even with these overlaps, understanding these lenses separately is also really useful. How exactly do I think like an anthropologist? Historian?
