1) Adjusted some NPC behaviors, and added more functionality to NPC Spawners.
2) Created a prototype bossfight to playtest weapon management. The boss swaps between 3 different weapons periodically. How does it look?

1) Further development of the prototype map. Also reworked a few background systems to add more functionality, namely for the camera.
2) Here's an extended clip of a larger battle, with hostile and allied NPCs.

1) A major milestone has been achieved. The save and load system has been created!
2) It uses a third-party library called SparkleStore to streamline the process. The system also seems capable of creating checkpoints.

1) Sorry for the delay, been too busy expanding the prototype map. It's up to 16 rooms and counting!
2) I've been playtesting systems by adding interesting sequences, like this wall-breach ambush. It uses 5 different systems!

I'm glad you enjoyed it, despite the game showing its age (it was my first game, developed between 2017-2019).
Hopefully one day I'll get the chance to recreate it with better code and a different movement system. Maybe even more infantry units.
I can even adjust which bullets trigger them! It'll be fun when I can start setting them up all over the place.

1) Enemy spawners were modified to accept modifications directly in the GMS2 room editor, rather than relying on code.
2) The test map will be expanded to start testing all these new systems together. After that, docks!

1) Destructible objects have been expanded to alter room states to affect conditional objects.
2) Updated the NPC pathfinding with navigation nodes. It helps control how many NPCs take the same route.

1) Added weapon property flags to control how they interact with the various objects in the game.
2) Began adding destructible objects. These can require specific property flags to take damage from weapons that hit them.

The movement works off basic acceleration to smoothen the motion. On the white ship, it's relatively high to give a sense of lightness.
It can also be set at a lower value to instead give a sense of weight. Large ships with low acceleration feel like you're flying a giant block of steel.

1) Began work on the persistent enemy system. It keeps track of enemies inside a room when you leave, and respawns them if you come back.
2) I was doing some tests and my radar started acting up. Is it... being jammed?

A WIP screenshot of Project MF-02, showcasing the updated healthbar system. The healthbar now adds extensions at the right end of the bar, indicating an excess of 100 shield or hull points. Additionally, currently unused portions of the healthbar will appear noticeably darker For example, in this picture the player ship has 300 shields (2 extensions and a full healthbar), and 150 hull (1 extension and half of a healthbar).

1) Setting up a weapon statistics table for balancing and design purposes.
2) Modified the UI healthbar system. It now adds extensions to the right end of the bar for every extra 100 points. It also obscures unused space.

1) NPCs can now create their own randomized patrolling route. One use of this behavior is to make NPCs search an area when there are no valid targets.
