The difference in the two conflicts is that one couldn't have been more deliberately provoked, and the other had no provocation at all. You can argue that Putin shouldn't have allowed Russia to be provoked, but you cannot argue with any real justification that Russia wasn't provoked.

The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. They’re tapping in to get in on the violence.

Not sure where you get 44% from, the figures I see are 27% with 29% unsure and 43% against. The WP poll that put approval at 39% was way out from others.
I've no doubt though that if Israel's war becomes successful though, the approval % will shoot up. For who cares about the dead kids?
