Calgary has just come through an extraordinarily warm and dry January.

December Snow Eases Prairie Drought | Significant snowfall in December has resulted in modest improvement to drought on the Canadian Prairies, and across the country.

Drought conditions have eased across the prairies, but the majority of agricultural lands remiain either abnormally dry or in drought.

2025 was warmer and slightly wetter than average in #Calgary. The avg temp in 2025 was 5.6, compared to the long term average of 4.5. #yyc had 471.5 mm of precipitation. The long term average is 445.4. (Preliminary numbers) The chart from NOAA shows warmer vs. colder than avg days in 2025.
