Colour photograph of an object that has been created with an in-camera, mirror-image effect. The original subject was a glass vase containing red tulips with green leaves and stems against a dark background. The result is a re-arrangement of the arrangement.
For a few years I used a point-and-shoot camera with a "Reflection" shooting mode to reimagine things around me. I haven't done much with it for a while, now, but really enjoyed it at the time. Even had an exhibition. More here: www.instagram.com/mirrormike/
Goooood morning.
π€¨ again.
Black and white photograph of a pond. The water is extremely calm. The surface of the pond is placed in the top 1/10th of the image, emphasizing the reflected surrounding trees in the remainder of the image. A white ball floats on the surface. A fun play of up/down, above/below.
Random photo. June 30, 2019. A pond at a cottage in QuΓ©bec's Eastern Townships.
Closely cropped, high contrast, black and (creamy) white photograph of the front of a 1956 Cadillac. A large pair of dice hang from the rear view mirror. Ontario license plate bears the tag "56 ELVIS". The screws holding the license plate onto the car, one in each corner, have caps in the shape of dice. Good times.
From the Red Hot & Blue Rockabilly Festival in Brockville, Ontario. September 2, 2017.
Thanks for that, Betty. π
Hey, thanks, Alfie. I hope you have a great Sunday. Time for me to step away from the screen and get some things done around here.
Colour photograph with top-down view of a battered, orange metal wheelbarrow. Parts of two wooden handles are visible at the top of the image. A puddle of accumulated rainwater sits in the middle of the wheelbarrow, with various organic matter lying at the bottom. Reflected on the surface of the water are surrounding trees and sky with wispy clouds.
Random image. Forest in a wheelbarrow. July, 2023. Geneva Lake, Ontario. (Thanks for those reposts, folks. Didn't expect that).

Black and white photograph of a curved, fenced structure overlooking the Ottawa River behind Parliament Hill, taken from a higher vantage point. The structure is placed in the bottom left-hand corner of the frame, while the expanse of the river creates a grey negative space in the rest of the image. A woman stands at the fencing, looking away from us, perhaps composing a photograph. A variety of footprints stain the fresh snow. Two areas of melted snow, against the fencing, with shuffling footprints leading away, raise questions about their formation.
Overlooking a lookout. Ottawa, November 2025. Tracks in the snow have stories to tell.
Black and white photo of a man with a hose, spraying pavement with water. Shot from above, to catch the shadows and spreading water. Sunlight reflects from the wet surface.
Random image file. July 13, 2017. Ottawa. A summer arts camp instructor sprays pavement clean after a wonderfully messy children's outdoor activity.
Black and white photo of a group of men with backs to us, following a small, fluffy white dog. On the paved road, a manhole cover with a white-painted ring around it is in the immediate foreground. Small-town houses and vehicles are in the background.
What the heck ... while I'm here, and thinking about Foleyet ... during a fishing trip with my two remaining brothers and my son, we, and a buddy, went for a walk with Benji on an August 2025 evening in Foleyet, Ontario.
Black and white photo of a rock band on a small stage. The singer notices the photographer. Dan, with his band, the Wednesday Nighters, playing at my brother Rick's wedding in September 2023. Rick married Dan's mom. Good times, in Foleyet, Ontario. Danced our old asses off.
Happy New Year! Will try to post more random (or not) images in 2026 ... π.
All the best in 2026! Stay loose.
Merry Christmas! All the best for 2026, Andy. Thanks for your work.
Colour photo of night scene. Front of a small house in darkness, illuminated by small grouping of lighted Christmas snowmen and trees supporting the word "JOY". Light from a cross at the top of a church steeple a couple blocks away is visible above and behind the house.
Neighbours down our OrlΓ©ans street. Peace.
Black and white photograph of ground vegetation coated and affected by frost on a late October morning in Ottawa, Canada. <sigh>
The frosty mornings are here.
Thank you for your very kind thoughts.
Yo, @eddywhite.bsky.social.
Colour photograph of the surface of a pond at Petrie Island (Ottawa River) reflecting fall foliage while leaves and other vegetation rest on that surface.
Had to keep a colour image. Looks like pastel to me, but it's a photograph.
Black and white photograph of ruins of an old bridge over the Rideau River, with floating leaves in the foreground and shoreline trees, and their reflections in the calm water, in the background. It is the fall season.
Black and white photograph of a seniors residence on the Rideau River, reflected - along with with shoreline trees and sky - in the smooth, calm water. It is the fall season.
Black and white photograph of a person in a kayak paddling through a scene of trees and sky reflected in calm water at Petrie Island. It is the fall season.
Black and white landscape photograph with fall sky and trees reflected in calm water at Petrie Island on the Ottawa River.
Shook loose some time and a camera. It's been such a gorgeous fall - actually, an extended summer in Ottawa. We're lucky to be so close to so much water. Peaceful fall water - a nice break.
Still here, Andy.
Can totally relate. Hang in there. Am shutting
this down and heading out with a camera now.
More skittish than psycho-ish, really, but it tolerated my presence if I didn't look at it. One day, I got the jump on it. I was renting a room in the basement of a house during a time of transition.
Black and white photograph of a black cat watching the photographer with bright eyes, and ready to scurry away at any moment.
I see that Bluesky folks are cuddly with our feline neighbours. Here's one I barely knew (but it was human-curious).
Thanks for the reposts, @mitchellsquid.bsky.social
Black and white photograph of this guy looking down at his phone, from the point of view of the phone.
What? There's a #selfportraitsunday?
Scrolling while waiting at the car dealership. The annual late-spring car issues.

Black and white photograph of a small and quiet weedy bay off of the Ottawa River, with contrasting tones on the surface of the water, while objects under the water are illuminated by spotty light leaking through the trees above.
Hey, Andy. It's been a while since I wandered the trails of a local park with a camera. It felt very comfortable to be back last weekend. It's always great to see all the different ways light works, especially in these treasured places.
