It makes sense if you think of their apocalyptic prophecy as a play. They’ve cast Trump as the Antichrist, a role he plays well. They’ve lobbied for war, so they can point to the destruction and say it was destined. And when Jesus doesn’t show, they’ll say it wasn’t time, and just try again later.
