A cream-colored mink named Emmy with soft fur and a pink nose leans forward curiously to sniff and lick a frozen treat on a stick. The treat looks like a small pink-orange lollipop made from frozen krill. Emmy’s long white whiskers fan forward and her bright eyes focus intently on the snack. The krill pop is held just above her swimming pool. The overall scene feels playful and gentle, capturing Emmy investigating her unusual frozen treat.
A cream-colored mink named Emmy eagerly bites into a frozen krill lollipop held on a stick. Her pink nose points upward and her long white whiskers fan outward as she grips the orange-pink frozen treat with her teeth. The krill pop glistens slightly as it begins to melt. Behind her in the background is her swimming pool, and the soft blue fabric of her tunnel appears in the lower background. Emmy’s expression looks determined and delighted as she chomps down on the unusual snack.
Krill pop? Yes please!!

What are ferrets?
Ferrets are curious domestic animals that love to explore and play! They are MUSTELIDS (MUSS-tuh-lids), or members of the weasel family. Other members of the weasel family include otters, badgers, mink, and martens.
This book introduces advanced vocabulary using real ferrets and their playful personalities.
Encourage children to say each word out loud, read the pronunciation together, and talk about how the picture shows the meaning.

A children’s book cover featuring a close-up photograph of a ferret peeking out from beneath a rough piece of tree bark in a snowy outdoor setting. The ferret has creamy white and brown fur, a pink nose, and dark curious eyes. Small patches of snow and bits of moss or green plant matter are visible around the bark, suggesting a cold woodland environment. The bark forms a natural arch over the ferret’s head, framing its face as it looks outward.
Across the top of the cover, in large playful bubble-style letters with thick black outlines and soft pastel coloring, is the title:
WORDY WEASELS!
Below the ferret photo, the subtitle appears in similar bold rounded lettering:

Given that a new WW seems constantly looming these days, these letters have piqued my interest. The first random letter I pulled happened to cover the capitulation of Belgium, the month before France fell to Germany in June '40.

Caught The Fire Bug — in Wyoming
13h
Wyoming: New years eve fire.
On 12/31/25 firefighters from Clearmont closed out the new year fighting a grass fire. The fire was wind driven and about 2 acres in size.
Conditions are unseasonably favorable for fires. Increased winds, Dry grass, and unseasonably warm weather helped aide in growth and spread of the fire.
The location is being withheld and the fire is currently being investigated by the SCSO. 📷 Clearomont fire District.

Image description:
A landscape photograph shows a grass fire burning on a hillside in Wyoming. Low flames move across dry vegetation, glowing orange through thick smoke that drifts across the scene. The terrain appears arid, with sparse brush and rolling hills or low mountains in the background. The sky is hazy, likely from smoke, emphasizing dry and windy conditions consistent with wildfire spread.
Coolcoolcool. This is fine, right? A wildfire in December in Wyoming? This is fine! Everything is a-ok.
Just because we have honey bees, budding trees, and wildfires in December doesn't mean there's a problem, this is all just fine.

A small honeybee with a golden-brown, fuzzy body and translucent wings clings to the outer edge of a shallow blue ceramic dish. The bee is positioned near the rim, its legs gripping the curved surface as it appears to rest. The dish contains a mix of birdseed in white, tan, and brown tones. Beneath and around the dish is a weathered wooden surface with visible cracks and grain lines, and scattered dark soil in the background. Sunlight highlights the bee and the blue glaze.

I think under $500 would be workable for ads in two local publications, paid ads on Facebook, and a social media campaign. I can organize the information and design the ads myself. I believe it would potentially be possible for me to secure a free venue and a volunteer speaker

I just learned that my area is hosting a "fist annual coyote killing contest" in February.
I'm toying with the idea of an educational project to bring awareness to studies that indicate lethal control of coyotes is ineffective as population control, and may even lead to a population boom.

A collage on a tan, textured paper background shows the development of a logo featuring a mustelid character, credited to Imogen Fischer.
At the top left is an early black-and-white sketch on white paper. It depicts a mustelid’s head and upper body facing forward, framed by an oval wreath of thorny branches with small leaves and buds. The linework is rough and exploratory, with visible construction lines and an expressive, slightly worried facial expression.
At the top right is a clean, fully colored version of the same design on a cream background. The mustelid has soft, pale cream fur, a pink nose, and large golden-yellow eyes. The expression appears gentle and alert. The head is framed by a wreath of brown branches with dark green leaves and small white blossoms. The illustration is polished, with smooth shading and crisp outlines.
At the bottom left is a finished logo badge set against a dark, starry blue background. The same mustelid portrait appears within the branch wreath, now enclosed in a decorative emblem shape. Below the animal, stylized text reads “Mustelid Madness Rescue & Sanctuary.” The overall look is warm, professional, and emblem-like, suitable for branding.
On the right side of the collage, handwritten-style text reads:
“Logo Art by Imogen Fischer”
Below it, a smaller note says:
“Note: we make promotional & seasonal edits to our logos.”
Overall, the image illustrates the progression from concept sketch to finished logo art, highlighting the artist’s role and the adaptable nature of the rescue’s branding.

A collage presents the illustration process and finished merchandise designs by Aneta Knoppvá Illustrations, arranged on a warm tan, paper-textured background.
At the top left is a white sketch page filled with loose pencil drawings of a stylized mink character. The sketches show multiple facial expressions and poses: curious, smug, playful, and affectionate. One small handwritten sound effect reads “PFF…” near a dismissive expression. Some sketches show the mink hugging a plush walrus toy, with tiny hearts floating nearby.
At the top right is a finished, full-color character sheet on a muted blue background. The same mink appears in several expressive busts and poses, rendered in a soft cartoon style with clean outlines. The mink has gray-brown fur, a white face and chest, pink nose, and small dark freckles. Expressions range from confident and sly to happy and affectionate. One pose shows the mink cuddling a small plush walrus, surrounded by red heart icons.
In the bottom left is a photograph of several die-cut stickers resting in a person’s hand. The stickers feature the mink character in different poses, including hugging the small plush walrus. One sticker includes bold, humorous text reading: “I don’t bite, I amputate.” Another sticker shows affectionate imagery with hearts.
In the bottom right is a photograph of a single sticker placed outdoors on a dark car window surface dusted with snow. The sticker shows the mink with a defiant, unimpressed expression. White, hand-lettered text beside the character reads: “Don’t kill my vibe.”
Centered along the bottom of the collage is the artist credit in bold, hand-drawn lettering:
“Aneta Knoppvá Illustrations.”
Overall, the image highlights a cohesive character design workflow -from sketchbook concepts to polished digital illustrations and real-world sticker products- featuring a sassy, expressive mink character with humor and attitude.

At the top left is a black-and-white line drawing labeled “Jack the Ferret.” The ferret is mid-motion with an arched back, open mouth, and expressive face, emphasizing its long, flexible body and fluffy tail.
At the top right is another black-and-white sketch titled “Nicolas the Mink.” The mink is shown reclining with legs in the air and tail curved, with a rounded face and cheerful expression. The style is loose and playful, focusing on movement and personality.
In the middle left is a colored rectangular illustration with a teal background reading “Mustelid Madness Kids.” A brown mink swims horizontally across the frame, body stretched long, eyes wide and friendly, with small bubbles trailing behind.
In the middle right is a clean black-and-white line drawing titled “Nicolas the Mink! Mustelid Madness.” The mink lunges forward with front paws extended, body elongated, and a happy, energetic expression.
At the bottom left hangs a banner-style illustration titled “Anatomy of a Ferret.” A cartoon gray ferret is labeled with humorous, fictional anatomy notes such as “bottomless void,” “boneless wiggle-sack,” “crinkle detectors,” “jet propulsion system,” and “dook meter,” giving it a lighthearted educational tone.
At the bottom right is a fully colored illustration of a brown mink stretched long and low to the ground, smiling as if running or sliding forward. Bold text next to it reads:

A collage labeled with the artist's name, “Saffyre Arts”, shows the creative process behind illustrated animal artwork, displayed on a tan, textured background.
At the top left is a dark slate-blue sketch page with light blue line drawings of small mustelids (ferret & mink) in dynamic poses, wearing a backpack and moving energetically, as if leaping or running. These are rough concept sketches with loose, expressive lines.
Overlapping this are two clean, sepia-toned line art panels on white paper. Each panel features a mustelid character standing upright on its hind legs, dressed in whimsical, fantasy-style clothing. The characters wear small capes, belts, and pouches, suggesting a woodland adventurer or forager theme. Decorative elements like leaves, mushrooms, and forest debris float around them.
At the bottom are two fully colored, finished illustrations presented side by side, framed with thin white borders.
Left illustration: A light cream-colored mink stands in a playful pose, wearing a brown satchel and scarf. Mushrooms, leaves, eggs, and forest details surround it, creating a soft, storybook woodland scene.
Right illustration: A darker, black-and-white ferret stands upright, dressed in a brown cap, scarf, belt, and pouch, gazing upward with a curious, alert expression. The background is muted gray-green with oak leaves, acorns, and forest motifs framing the figure.
Overall, the image highlights Saffyre Arts creative workflow- from rough sketches, to refined line art, to polished, richly colored fantasy-style animal illustrations with a cozy, woodland aesthetic.

It's weird to me that people can find reasoning to say that any animal is somehow "lesser". I am not myself vegetarian, and it's something I've struggled...
