Hey that's where I am
Seattle when?
do you guys ever think about how in a better world JosΓ© Andres could just like. have some restaurants. and instead heβs consistently doing the work weβre supposed to have governments for
This is Finny. He doesnβt go chasing waterfalls. He carefully studies their timing and arrives in advance. 14/10 very impressive (TT: jordancain70)
Others have said it, but I feel the need to echo it: please donate to your local PBS and NPR stations today. Puget Sound's KUOW now has a $1.4 million-dollar funding gap, and it's probably one of the better-resourced stations. This is a death blow to what remains of the free press.

Farm Stand has been a wonderful partner in helping us bring our food to restaurants and food access programs. We love Farm Stand!
If that fails (hope it doesn't though) you can always get great locally grown peppers at your nearest farmer's market!
Our CSA is still open! We still have a few shares that are still available and will be pro-rated though June!

I should clarify that eating our veggies will not taste like a sacrifice. We grow delicious regionally adapted, open pollinated, specialty varieties you can't get anywhere else (outside of a farmer's market) that is (I think) the best tasting produce around. Yes even (especially) the turnips
At this point we feel obligated to inform people that we do still have open spots in CSA for this summer! π
And before you ask, yes there will be turnips

This is a good summary of the situation, but it seems clear that the admin have no intention of following the law or listening to the courts and the Dem leadership has no plans for making them
farmpolicynews.illinois.edu/2025/02/usda...
We know about as much as anyone else. I spoke with @cantwell.senate.gov office and they confirmed that this kind of chaos is just what we can expect with this admin. They don't have any plan on how to enforce the rule of law or how to prevent daylight robbery from American taxpayers
I think it's worth repeating plainly that a federal judge halted Musk's federal funding freeze nearly two weeks ago but funds are still very much being frozen in violation of the court order.
So our incubator's USDA funding got cut. It seems this administration no longer wants food because of woke
Yes! We will be doing a market in the Seattle area and we will have a CSA this summer which will be picked up at various locations around Seattle. We're still sorting out the specifics, but will announce the market and CSA signup when we know more!
Oh we're new here but trans rights are human rights
... like duh
From Seattle and can confirm
We would if could
A vivid pink and sharp orange set of wispy clouds during sunset. The sun is no longer visible, but a row of towering poplars are silhouetted against the bright sky
Farming in January
Finally our sunsets are after 5pm!
A barn shaped frame (30'x48' for those interested) on an empty farm field with trees in the background
For 2025 we moved plots! (~100ft east) And we're finally starting to to get our custom designed hoop house up!
