Woken up with a hangover to find the tabs open in my browser include the wiki pages of Gore Vidal, Norman Mailer, Mother Teresa and former Portsmouth striker David Nugent.
Sorry if I'm not my usual self today. My eighty day wordle streak just came to an end. Need some time to process.
And if you've read it yourself, you may be interested to know I popped into the Royal Academy of Arts today and happened to notice that I was in the Sackler Wing.
Thinking of taking tomorrow morning off just so I can finish the Empire of Pain audiobook. It is absolutely unbelievable and might well be my favourite ever non-fiction.
Nice to see people enjoying the audiobook. Read brilliantly by Joan Walker. And of course, it is very much available in delicious hardback.
The cover of The Town House by Norah Lofts.
The audiobook image for Earth to Moon by Moon Unit Zappa.
The cover of Something to Answer For, by P.H. Newby.
The cover of I Am Not The Only Murderer In My Retirement Home by Fergus Craig.
Books read or listened to February 2026. Good historical fiction, a memoir of an unusual childhood, a cozy/comic mystery and a Booker Prize winner I am still trying to understand. The mystery from @ferguscraig.bsky.social was a fun break from the rest.
Gorton and Denton sound like a double act from the 2000s who went to Edinburgh a couple of times but never really took off. One of them went into corporate video production and the other retrained as a lawyer.
This week in the Canberra Weekly I reviewed 3 very different books with a serial killer theme. @ferguscraig.bsky.social's is very funny Also enjoyable are the ones by #JohnMcMahon & @katealicemarshall.bsky.social murdermayhemandlongdogs.com/canberra-wee...
I'm Not The Only Murderer In My Retirement Home makes it to the New York Post. I think we now know what Carrie Bradshaw and Spike Lee are going to be reading next... nypost.com/2026/02/21/l...
Saw Martin Lewis at the theatre once. Imagine the damage I could have done to his reputation if I saw him buy Maltesers from the bar rather than a nearby shop.
Good point. Fun to chat the new book on the Herring pod.
Me too.
McDonald's are doing a Friends themed happy meal which is like them doing a Sgt. Bilko themed happy meal in the mid nineties.
Yeah why not
They should do the line of succession like ticketmaster. The line of succession will be opening at 10am tomorrow... This is your place in the queue....
If Andrew gets removed from the line of succession then that means we all move up one place.
A lovely review in the Seattle Times of all places.
I love them so much.
I wrote about what it's like in the week your (my) book is published... ferguscraig.substack.com/p/publicatio...
Sorry, I know this is all quite relentless from me, but it is publication week.
Number one in (the cosy crime category in) Germany! Also, American copies arrived!
Signed some copies at Goldsboro Books like a real grown up author boy.
Itβs so nice to see the book finding its desired audience of retired serial killers.
I wrote a piece for @crimereads.bsky.social about my new book and on what it is that makes crime so cozy... crimereads.com/fergus-craig...
This is Mr. Craig's assistant. I'm afraid he can't reply right now.
I am afraid I am too thick to know what this means! It should be available in all formats, anywhere you get your books.
No. I refuse.
For example, here, from independent shops... uk.bookshop.org/p/books/ever... or here, from Waterstones... www.waterstones.com/book/everyon...
