That’s such a similar experience, I played tons of NetHack on my HP Jornada 540!
I saw it, but haven’t played the new DLC. I’m so out of the Diablo loop anymore I wouldn’t even know how to get back in. I’m very much a casual Diablo player (ironic considering I play competitive Smash, Pokémon etc.)
I have played all of these but C&C… man, I’d all but forgotten about Terminal Velocity. I had the CD-ROM version and I remember getting a joystick from my grandpa to play it.
Terror from the Deep is actually such a goated pick. Underrated X-COM game. I have the Steam version nowadays.
1. Gradius III, 2. Super Mario RPG, 3. Nuclear Throne, 4. Space Empires II, 5. Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, 6. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, 7. NetHack, 8. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, 9. Diablo II
@ministerofdoom.bsky.social did this so I wanted to do one too.
The 9 games that made me, which I’ve also put in a reasonable order to their importance in my mind.
Bottom left is NetHack if you don’t know. Might be the game I’ve loved the most hours in ever, and played on the most platforms ever.
What is this
Hi haha
Ça fait longtemps mes amis!
I've been so busy... Teaching, learning, working for my friend who does YouTube...
I'm finally getting to the point that i can take my time for a few weeks while i gear up for next year.
Because... I've been accepted to university in France as of this morning. ☺️ Wahoo!

Replaced my gigantic Hatsune Miku desktop PC with a much smaller and more adorable Hatsune Miku desktop PC

Could try running TinyCore Linux (Or DSL Classic) and connecting it to the 'net.
I still have a Win 3.11 box (486+16MB RAM) with TCP/IP and a Base10 ISA ethernet card that I use to poke the internet and chat on IRC one in a while...
IRC on an old machine just feels *right* and idk why... it's home
It goed good
I'm excited that I finished one of my 5 classes (it was an accelerated 8 week course) with another A grade so I've maintained my 4.0 GPA
I also got another grant which will help me pay off debt/save money for studying abroad next year (providing this French university accepts me)

It might still be considered a roundabout, in a roundabout way.

Finished Mother 3
I'm not crying you are
:'(
That was... a good game
(er.... zut..... mauvais français,,,, ;~; adverbes ughh)
Bon travail! :)
Looking great :) Keep up the good work.
I've been trying to get into a better mental space myself. I've got a lot of stress recently with work/school/life balance and it's tearing me up. But I'm making it too.
Have a wonderful day 😊
Sigh.... Rant over. I just wish I was as motivated as I was when I was a child. Sometimes dreams come true but my dream of being a game developer was crushed long ago.
Bummer.
Don't give up on your dreams, kids.
Every once in a while I get the itch. I feel like creating again, really putting my back into it like old times, but for real this time. But then I remember I'm old and technology has left me in the dust. What am I going to do, whip something up in BASIC or Fusion or RPG Maker and try to release it?
A lot of my online footprint from when I was a teen coding random garbage games is lost to the ether and it's sad. Games I developed like my Mystery Dungeon clone "Blob Dungeon", my space shooter "ABLE", my arcade "There Are Robots" shooter, and various platformers I whipped up are just gone...
I'm excited about the end coming up and honestly it's really taking me back to 2005-2007 for me, when I was happily grinding away making RPG Maker games on GamingW dot net and Ultima Island, doing week-long or weekend game jams, and it makes me sad that very little of that stuff exists now.
Update: I made it to New Pork City last night.
I really enjoy this game. Playing it reminds me of the first time I rented Earthbound for SNES when I was a kid. I remember walking into the video store and seeing the gigantic box and thinking it was going to be the coolest game ever. (I was right)
I AM ON CHAPTER 7 AND I AM CALLING IT A DAY
WHEW BUDDY WHAT A GAME
Alright, I'm finally going to play all the way through Mother 3.
I haven't tried getting through this game since the English patch first came out.
Being kept awake at night recently because I found out that one of my friends who I completely lost connection with and thought was a good friend has some awful opinions about me (for things that I cannot change, unfortunately).
Sigh. Losing faith in humanity lately... I need to turn this around.
I grew up incredibly poor so I am not surprised at all 🙃
You know, Glenn, I've followed you on here ever since you posted on the "Texas 200" FB group that you were leaving for this platform (a great choice btw), and I'm so glad that I did.
Every time I see you post or repost something here I'm delighted that someone in this world still has a brain.
I feel no remorse for the consequences faced by any person who makes a living by spreading fear to the masses.
