So now that I'd had my new OC's designs I did some shoujo style studies for them so I was playing around with proportions and detail density but I could tell I wasnt very comfortable yet I didnt have a proper character sheet, some good stuff learnt though
This was at the time their final designs coming from the sets of explorations and iterations coming from beforehand. Foreshadowing on them getting an optimising redesign like 5 months after this again to their actual current designs after a lot of foundational practice.

These are the iterations I went with my OCs and i polled on insta to see what people found appealing, ultimately it didnt necessarily dictate my final choice but I really liked seeing what appeals to people. There's a mix of classics here and m,id iterations of them along the process that worked
Alongside my OC Lynn is also her "partner" Cyrus, a lot of his designs are definitely influenced by her pretty directly especially to go with the idea of contrast between them
Right up to my last set of morning figures I started redesigning Lynn and Cyrus my OCs around last September again following a momentum of artistic energy. I tried a few variants here in this exploration sketch page to see what vibes I might want and potentially different hairstyles for her #OC

thanks! yeah I felt like because of the sprite forms theres a lot of room for interpretation. That said i think the devs were intentionaly with Rybb being more rounded in shape language vs Decker's sharper angled shapes. So i tried to lean into that :D

Not too long after my prev post, 2 years ago i did yet another redesign of my OCs Lynn and Cyrus, a hero and villain dating each other. This felt like there was some refinement in my drawings more, but clearly still lacking full solid foundations. (we'll get to that in the present)
