Not me, but after watching The Witch, a lady in the cinema shouted "THAT WAS BULLSHIT", someone else shouted "NO IT WASN'T", and then the original lady's boyfriend *took the other guy's side*
That's cinema, baby

This was a fun interview! Reanimal is very cool, as are its devs
Young Tom Sizemore: "It's like I always say: for me, the action is some juice... wait, that isn't right, I'll work on that"
A screenshot of a section from Xbox Wire's Fable interview, reading: "The other cool thing about The Office is something weβve kind of nicked. Youβve maybe seen in our trailers that we have a sort of mockumentary interview style. I think a lot of people assume we just did that for those trailers, but itβs actually a device we use throughout the game. Iβve never seen it in games before, but it allows you a way to really neatly tell a joke or drop a little bit of character detail in a way that would feel really clunky in a dialogue, but suddenly feels entirely natural when you do it to βcameraβ."
My favourite little detail from our Fable coverage yesterday - those mockumentary-style to-camera interviews from the last two trailers are actually part of how the game will tell its story:
Played the whole thing on Ally and it was perfect
TR-49 is up there with the best of Inkle. It looks like codebreaking, but it's really about deduction.
A game that remembers that, if you're coming through dozens of pages of text, all that text should be wildly interesting in and of itself - discovering this world is as fun as solving the mystery.
That's got to scan to some kind of song lyrics
And of course, @2plus2isjoe.bsky.social got stuck into Fable and asked Playground Games every possible question you could possibly have about this highly-anticipated return to Albion. Punt some poultry and dive on in 'ere:

The big dog @thewillennium.bsky.social wrangled some excellent new info on Beasts of Reincarnation, a game that features an even bigger dog. Grab your dog and get in here. If you don't have a dog, sorry

A NICE SURPRISE? In this economy? @mike-nelson.bsky.social has sculpted a looovely piece about Double Fine's pottery brawler with insight from the game's Project Lead, bust out the fine china for this read (and drop it on the floor):

The endlessly cool Xbox Wire team put together four deep-dives into the four games we just showed at the Developer Direct. Please allow me to pill you on Forza Horizon 6, a game I did not see creeping up my most-anticipated list:

It should not be allowed that a new Inkle game is out in two days - because it should be out now. Having to wait for a new Inkle game is an issue for governments to solve.
Do not watch this if you haven't seen Marty Supreme... but if you have...
You have to hear Josh Safdie's original ending for the movie. Dynamite.

Just checking in to say thank you for this recommendation - my god it's nice
A news article thumbnail showing a lone woman searching through bleak wetlands. The BBC News headline reads "the woman who spent Christmas in search of a rare plant".
me: are you sure I can't just bring a vegan roast from asda?
mammy: no it's absolutely no trouble, don't you be running around the shops
A CMS I used to work on had the "bozo" button, which would make a commenter's posts only appear on their feed and no one else's. The sheer satisfaction of bozoing someone is unmatched.
And I will continue to go on about it, such good stuff in here
This is the kind of thing I'm logging in for
Have you reached Shia LeBoeuf yet?
I did a cover feature preview about that game and I'm pretty sure I remember being shut down from asking about whether they could have used it (because I mentioned it several times)
I haven't seen a single news report that tells me whether Netflix buying WB means it owns the Nemesis System patent yet
Cue the "we've accidentally insulted Shibata" story
Two separate dead dog jokes in one list, what an odd fixation we had
The first playable character ever created for the Tony Hawk's series was Bruce Willis
There's a Vampire Survivors spin-off. It's a roguelike deckbuilder. It's also an old-school dungeon crawler. It's also probably other, stranger things. I am hideously psyched - and I got to speak to Luca from Poncle all about where the hell this came from.
Please, Tarsier, when you've finished up on Reanimal, there are fun guys like me who'd like lost classic, Statik to come out on new VR headsets:

I love this piece from @mike-nelson.bsky.social - a character build guide for The Outer Worlds 2 with a difference: every entry was contributed by a member of the game's QA team.

Told you
I feel like it's gone undersung that Rise of the Golden Idol's DLC this year (which is now all out there), has effectively been an entire new game's worth of cases - and it works like a side-quel (ugh) to both of the first two games.
Honestly, just an incredible thing.
