It's definitely spring in the churchyard!

Almost ready for tonight's service. #AshWednesday
Just heard someone say they're going to have pancakes with gravy for tea because "it's basically Yorkshire pudding." There's a fine line between genius and crimes against cuisine.
I'll send it to you. Or you could watch back on the livestream if you're keen!
When you spent hours shoveling your car out and you REALLY donβt want anyone taking your spot
A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.

A photographer of the front of Wycliffe Hall Oxford from Banbury Road.
What an absolute joy and delight to return to Wycliffe Hall (ridiculously, although I've done some online teaching, it was my first in person visit in the almost 21 years since I left). I have such fond memories of this wonderful place, and it was lovely to find it in such good heart.
Statement from Mayors Steve Rotheram and Andy Burnham: We have both seen devastating incidents in our regions and would never support anything which compromises national security. An important part of strengthening the countryβs defences is establishing the truth at the earliest opportunity when things go wrong and that is why, if drafted correctly, the Hillsborough Law could create a culture in all public services where that is the norm. As it stands, we believe the governmentβs amendment in relation to the security services creates too broad an opt-out and risks undermining the spirit of the legislation. We appreciate that the government has made huge strides in working to deliver the Hillsborough Law and are grateful for their willingness to work with campaigners thus far to make it the strongest law possible. It is in that spirit that we call on them to withdraw their amendment ahead of Mondayβs debate and work with the families and the Hillsborough Law Now campaign to find a solution acceptable to all sides.

Have we got some sort of friendship protocol for you going to Mary's without me... π€
An all-male 'Board of Peace'. What could possibly go wrong?
A vase of daffodils just beginning to bloom.
Didn't expect to see daffodils so early. Imagine how happy this makes me!.
If youβre not a morning person I feel like you have that same vibe for like the first 2-3 months of every year
According to Bible app @youversion.bsky.social the most engaged with Bible verse of 2025 is from Isaiah, chapter 41, verse 10:
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Text reads: God, keep my anger from becoming meanness. Keep my sorrow from collapsing into self pity. Keep my heart soft enough to keep breaking. Keep my anger turned towards justice, not cruelty. Remind me that all of this, every bit of it, is for love. Keep me fiercely kind. Amen. @laurajeantruman
Not really a fan of a new year's resolution. Seems to me entirely the wrong time to be trying to achieve lots of new things. It's cold and dark and frankly I'm more pro hibernation than I am goal setting. That said, this strikes me as a rather lovely set of aspirations.

Christmas wreath hanging on front door. Wreath has orange ribbon tied in a bow at the bottom and is decorated with orange segments, cinnamon sticks, wooden stars, and pine cones.
Bit earlier than usual, but lovely to do our annual Christmas wreath making class with friends last night.
A circular wreath, to hang on a door or wall, made of lots and lots of different ribbons, in autumnal colours, tied around a frame.
I've got about nine million things to do, and it was making me a bit π₯΄. So I took a step back from all of them for a bit, and did this instead. Please admire the gloriousness of my autumn ribbon wreath.
