“He didn’t look to try and fix things”

Summarizes his time at Spurs. Kept playing his shit, scared style of football. Never understood the club or tried to. Never took risks…probably bc he was petrified of losing the $8M in wages he somehow got our idiot board to pay him (3rd highest in the EPL!)

Having confidence in Markwayne Mullin is immediately disqualifying

There was no need to panic

Thanks man. My dad was a Spurs supporter since the 50s and is the reason I fell in love with the club. Sharing the Europa League triumph during his illness was cathartic and euphoric. I’ve become irrationally sad/angry by the club’s demise so I appreciate you giving people like me some grace!

Man. I’ve been thinking about Hal lately too. I noticed the same. He was always constructive and respectful in his interactions with everyone. Often a differing opinion but I appreciated his voice and positivity.

I keep saying this but with our current midfield options Bissouma essentially has to play. Not bc he is a world beater but bc he is the only guy on the team who can receive the ball under pressure on the half-turn and get us up the pitch.

Agree. Also because Micky is still not a great box defender and his lateral movement is worse than people would like to admit. Love him but he is still very raw as a player. He might be better limited to one side of the pitch where he can run north/south

This was the best, most calming thing I listened to this week. Thank you. Can relate to a lot of it…as a fellow Transformers loving child of the 80s who lost his father in January and hopelessly looks to Spurs for escapism

Wow. If you could summarize everything wrong with the club in one headline 😂

While I have some sympathy for Ryan I fully expect/hope some fellow Spurs fans are there to absolutely grill him in the Q&A. Should be box office 🍿

That’s not what we are debating (though both great achievements). You asked why it’s a bigger deal for Spurs to get relegated than Leicester. Spurs have played in the Champions League more times than United or Arsenal the last 12 years. They are the 9th wealthiest club in the world. This isn’t hard.

“challenging more recently”. Spurs finished 4th in 2021-22 and 5th in 2023-24. They spent a decade with an avg finish of ~4.6. Made a UCL Final and won the Europa League last year. Leicester have finished in the top 4 once, when they won the title. Nearly every season they’ve finished behind Spurs.

Dreadful. That lineup is a good way to ensure that we never control a game. And we didn’t. Absurdly lucky to go 1-0 up and of course it didn’t last

So bad 🤦🏽‍♂️

Another bad selection by Tudor. At least he had the balls to play Souza and Tel…but then he f’d up the midfield. Given how poor we are technically you can’t take both Bissouma and Xavi out of the team.

“decades” is an insane take 😂

Anyone follow Spurs in the 90s and early 2000s? Or have used Google search before?

In 2021 Alcaraz was losing in 2nd rounds. We all thought he was going to be a top player competing for slams. Shapo wasn’t at that level but he was world junior #2 and 7yrs ago made a masters 1000 semi by defeating prime Nadal. There was hype despite your personal opinion.

05.03.2026 17:19 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I love when casual hacks think 2 slam QF, a slam SF, and a top 10 ranking is meaningless. He was one win away from making a Wimbledon final you claim is so preposterous.

Shapo is likely to never make a final but 7-8yrs ago he was certainly much more expected to than say Taylor Fritz.

05.03.2026 17:14 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

No offense taken but the author said 7-8yrs ago. Both ended up making the top 10…one has already made 2 slam finals. It’s not nearly the outlandish take you think it is.

05.03.2026 17:09 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Hmmm I disagree. Tsitsipas has made 2 grand slam finals, won the ATP Finals as a teenager and was world #3 at 21. Shapo broke into the top 10 as a 20yr old and made the semis of Wimbledon at 21. He was very much seen as a future star when he beat Nadal at a Masters 1000 at 18yrs old.

It’s a crime Dray has only 1 DPOY. Best defender of his generation and it isn’t close.

05.03.2026 02:37 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I fully agree. Lose tomorrow and its curtains. We aren’t getting anything at Anfield. Wolves away is suddenly a tough fixture. If we are behind Forest in the table when we play them I think the pressure will devour our players. Spurs are by far the worst team in the league in 2026.

04.03.2026 22:28 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Yep. Right now we are the worst team in the league. Don’t think it’s particularly close either.

04.03.2026 21:46 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that if we don’t take all 3pts tomorrow we are likely going down.

04.03.2026 21:44 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

We are going down. Wow.

04.03.2026 21:39 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Agreed. Bobb would have immediately become our most technical player (who is fit) in a team that desperately needs technical quality.

04.03.2026 16:55 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

You’d think the guy who assembled a 17th and 16th place side at the 9th wealthiest club in the world would be under some pressure.

04.03.2026 16:46 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

We’ve scored so few goals lately that it feels like we need to play another striker/inside fwd like RKM or Richy along with Tel and Solanke. Perhaps you could play a 4-2-3-1.

Solanke
Tel Xavi RKM/Richy
Sarr Bissouma
Souza VdV Danso Porro
Vic
