You know you play it on repeat! 😜
Besides my bad jokes, we chat with Masaya Oshima and Sarah Stanley about their latest work!
I apologize to @danieljdrucker.bsky.social and @seeleyrj.bsky.social 🙃
In the latest episode of @DiabetesBio pod, @kirkhabegger.bsky.social and I attempt to create joke predictions for 2026! @kevvwill.bsky.social wisely kept his prediction more serious. Perhaps Kirk and I should stick to our day jobs?

We've been tracking unlawful NIH grant terminations for 3 weeks. Spread the word👇!
Fellow PIs: what can you do upon termination?
✅ Email PO + document questions
✅ Submit FOIA
✅ Advocate to your OCG/OSP for appeal + litigation
✅ Consider outside litigation
✅ Donate to state AGs + legal orgs
1/🧵
It’s been a devastating 24 hours with 3 NIH grants terminated…all focused on the health and wellbeing of trans or intersex youth. If folks have any ideas of foundations that may be interested in supporting the completion of these projects so years of work aren’t wasted, please let me know. 🙏
Today I lost an NIH grant training clinicians to do research about intimate partner violence with perinatal women.
More women are murdered in the perinatal period than die of obstetric complications.
I didn't just lose a grant. We lost an entire cohort of people building careers to prevent that.
Horrible news - The Adolescent Medicine Trials Networks for HIV/AIDS Interventions (ATN) funded by the NIH has just been terminated.
Stopping a clinical trial mid-course like this is insane.

🚨 ALL my remaining NIH grants were just terminated
Without philanthropic gifts, this is the end of
1️⃣ my career (as I know it)
2️⃣ @lgbtqhealthexce.bsky.social
3️⃣ our LGBTQ health equity work
Yet, reading about LGBTQ families in my kid's class reminded me: love knows no bounds 🌈
