I'm currently holding a lecture at the university of applied sciences Darmstadt. So I thought why not post some of the effects I created for this.

Absolutely! I just goes against intuition when you just think of it as "getting rid of the whole number".

If frac() just leaves the fractional part of the number why is the result not this mirrored gradient that we'd expect?
Because what is happening under the hood is x -floor(x)!
So for example frac(-0.1) is -0.1 - (-1) = 0.9 🤯

There are a couple different ways to get the expected result. The clamp approach dosen't work if max<min though.
My Remap Range (Safe) material function is basically what UE uses in Niagara.
Why this is happening is pretty straight forward. Because the input range isn't clamped to the desired old range it gives you values outside that range.
The Remap Value Range node in UEs material editor is lying to you!!!
Well - at least it can give you results you might not expect.
So whats going on here and how to "fix" it?

Ohhh this might help with Niagara recompile when you scrub a value too!
Today I Learned:
You can enable "Determinism" on your emitters to let you scrub your FX backwards in Niagara.
Just be sure to turn it back off when your done so your FX still has random seeds at the end!

The dot product has a special place in my heart. So versatile! Really love the channel selection/mixer "trick". Wanna select channels of a texture dynamically for example? Just dot(tex sample, float4 parameter)<3

I honestly think the older you get the less you care. There is not really a whole lot less confusion just more fuck it attitude =D hope the being lost gets better for you though. I always found it claiming to just let yourself drift but I know for others it's very uncomfortable.
Schweiz braucht man tatsächlich auch nur einen perso. Den es auch für Kinder gibt aber macht wenig Sinn wenn der Reisepass mehr bringt 🤷
Abgesehen davon braucht man immer ein gültiges ausweisdokument. Auch in EU Ländern. Als Erwachsene Person hat man dann eben die Wahl ob perso oder Reisepass. Da ein Kind aber noch kein perso hat braucht es automatisch einen Reisepass egal wohin die grenzüberschreitende Reise geht.
Gibt auch genug Länder wo man einen Pass braucht ohne fliegen zu müssen (allein die Schweiz). Und ein guter Grund sind familienbesuche imo. Heutzutage sind Familien oft sehr viel weiter verstreut als früher.
