Being albino doesn’t mean you’re automatically blind. I just got dealt a particularly difficult hand to play in this lifetime.
But, it’s a blessing to be on the cusp of blindness, because I can help so many others with struggles like mine see the world better through my art.
My vision changes based on where I am.
I have photophobia, amblyopia, astigmatism, nystagmus, and more, (blindness induced pseudo-dementia.)
I’m considered “circumstantially legally blind” which basically means “suck it up and get a job” in the eyes of the American social security administration.
I’m officially Canadian! Just waiting for papers to process and print :D

Ugh, voice to text doesn’t like Latin.
The Washington State School for the Blind taught me how to be athletic while being legally blind.
Blind and Deaf schools are at risk of being eliminated because of this current government circus. They are setting up our future citizens to struggle harder and suffer greater.
I love the outdoors, and I’m willing to slather on sun lotion 6 times a day to live a life where I can immerse myself in nature and feel free.
Being albino is hard. Accutane is albinism type 1C is my diagnosis. I’ve adapted pretty well over my lifespan to tolerate light exposure despite photophobia and my extreme susceptibility to skin cancer.
I can’t go into most grocery stores without feeling like their lighting is screaming at me.
This is a marvelous change not only for the Humpback whale 🐋 population but for all of us. We need to keep our gentle giants from going extinct.
