In general I agree with you. I love the high speed tracks we have here in Germany. But this speed is only efficient when the distance between the train stations is relatively big. On top of this comes that the acceleration has its upper limits because of the friction of steel wheels on steel tracks.

That's the reason that I left Linkedin and Xing.
The defaults were opt-in and not opt-out.
I came to the point that if I want to get in touch with someone then I can contact them directly. No need to go through a platform where I have no control what they do with my data or messages.
That's one reason that I moved away from MS's OS after 40 years using them last week. The other reason is their obsolescence policy of not officially supporting HW that has a TPM 2.0 chip and a Threadripper processor.
I know that there are ways to circumvent all these obstacles. But an OS is a tool that should work out of the box. My life time is too valuable to spend on bending around their dumb decisions.
I am looking forward to using my PC many years further.

I have a Threadripper proc with 12 physical cores, 64 GB RAM + TPM 2.0 module but it is not officially supported to run Win 11.On top of it, the toolbar is not moveable any more, the installed bloatware eg OneDrive and the need to have an MS account made it easy for me to leave their eco system.

Microsoft has just lost another long time user of their OS. After MS-DOS 2.11, 4.01, DOS inside OS/2 2.x Win95, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, 7 and finally 10, I moved completely to Linux Mint, because I think it is absolute not responsible to support their obsolescence policy.
