Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first. One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish. Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my schoolβs standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didnβt diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I donβt feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points. We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Sorenβs participation in the girlsβ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are. Anelise Feldman Freshman, Yarmouth High School Yarmouth

I do hope the good weather draws out more spectators.
The first half is going to be great. Hoping to not end up as a raisin by the end.
Damn, Rory. What a shot! π€―
Kevin McCaffrey has been running a 50-mile ultra-marathon at Holmes Lake every month this year, inviting others to join him and raising money for good causes.
Yep! I havenβt gotten through all of them yet, but Iβve gone back several days already. I appreciate that itβs something different.
I didnβt think I needed another daily puzzle game, but I was wrong. Thanks for sharing!
NEW | Greg Sharpe always found the right words to say.
No matter the circumstance, Sharpe always met the moment. So, the right words at this moment?
His own.

That was a first down. How do you get that wrong??
What a touching tribute - I needed the tears this morning. Thank you for writing this!

The rear of a black Dodge Durango with no license plate and an in-transit tags in the rear window dated 04-05-2023.
Itβs not uncommon to see a car driving around Lincoln with expired in-transit tags. However, the one I saw today takes the cake - the tags expired in April of 2023! Theyβve avoided licensing their car for almost 2 years now. π‘

Canβt think of a more fitting setting for Nebraska Football to return to a bowl game than a football game in a baseball stadium, thatβs sponsored by a lawn mower company, taking place in a city where nobody has lawns to mow.
NEW | Andi Jackson resented the idea of playing volleyball β pouting on the way to her first club tryout.
Now at Nebraska, she's one of the sport's rising stars with goals to be the world's best middle blocker.

I like Saturdays for long runs, but as someone who prefers to run with friends, I'll do a long run on whatever day works. We did a lot of Fridays this fall and the occasional Sunday too.
They're so good! Happy to finally have it on vinyl. It's also hot pink translucent. π
We did our part! Glad you found what you wanted!
