Oof, that is a LOT of information for that age. My third grader with ADHD would take one look at this and completely shut down. If you’re someone without a strong working memory, all the different strategies become noise.

I mean I’ve always been a bit of a weather nerd but it still blows my mind to have conversations with lifelong Nebraskans who don’t seem to understand how any of this works on even the most basic level

Yeah. I was almost as surprised to see that email as I was to hear they were closed this morning.

They seem to be missing the “timing” part of all this. Or maybe they’re following sensationalist Facebook accounts…or they’re afraid of parents who are following sensationalist accounts…who knows

We got an email from our district saying if they close tomorrow, it will have to be a Remote Learning Day since it’s the third snow day. But they never should have closed today, so…

Sometimes it does feel like they’re just trying to burn all the built-in days.

I really really want to give admins the benefit of the doubt but somebody needs to have a come to jesus meeting with them to discuss the possibility that it’s ok to have school even if it might be snowing a little bit near drop-off or pick-up time. Maybe Lincoln Public Schools could host it…
