One of those books that leads you to immediately want to know what others think happened in the book. Christopher Nolan could have some fun with it.

Just a guy in Lincoln, Nebraska that enjoys being outdoors, seeing my kids do great things and letting the Huskers, Liverpool and Sporting KC have too much control over my happiness. I'm KØFTZ on amateur radio and am always down for a great beer or coffee.

I keep thinking about how much the playing surface comes into play with the Winter Olympics, while struggling to come up with similar situations in the Summer Olympics. Whether it is on snow or ice, the most athletic, most prepared athlet... https://bfitz.me/2026/02/19/i-keep-thinking-about-how.html
Our radio club’s education chair said he expects over 40 people for a free one-day technician (entry-level radio license) class this weekend. That’s awesome, but it’s been causing me to wonder what’s driving people to attend? Science? Public service? Weather Prep? General uncertainty about things?
2025 Holiday Nebraska Beer Tour complete! We drove 185 miles west to Cozad for “The Frontier Frau” and enjoyed their German brews and sausage/kraut pizza! We followed that up with Lost Way Brewing in Holdrege and finished at the Liederkranz in Grand Island.

Dagnabit... and of course you can't edit on Bluesky.
Yes! I only saw it once live, but have watched/listened to the recording innumerable times. Their Malagueña is amazing. That production came out of the Star of Indiana corps and I'm surprised there haven't been similar shows since.
I’m VERY excited that Drum Corps International is coming back to Nebraska. It has been many years, during which we’ve primarily gone to Fort Collins to see it. Troopers, Cavs, Blue Devils… It’s going to be an excellent show. https://www.dci.org/news/drums-across-nebraska-omaha-ne/
Welp. My 50th trip around the sun is complete. It’s always fun to hear from family and friends to celebrate the beginning of another orbit. 🎂
It is fucking unbelievable that they’re using AI to make content at The Verge now www.theverge.com/tech/641940/...
If you’re using it because you spent north of $500 for a Garmin watch or bike computer, this should just be a part of that value
I can't stress this enough: Outdoor severe weather sirens are not intended for people indoors.
They are meant to be heard by people outside and within range of each siren.
I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired.
It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. 🧵
My colleagues and our broadcasts, devoted to telling America’s story to the world — honestly, fairly and with an unwavering commitment to the truth, are being silenced this weekend. open.substack.com/pub/newsguy/...

pretty good representation of the mask off era here
Some friends and I had a fantastic #winterfieldday weekend at a state park cabin. How many radios do 3 people need? 30ish? 😂 We used meshtastic, erected a variety of wire, horizontal and loop antennas, used phone modes, data modes and cw/morse code and much more. Can’t wait for next year! #hamradio
Oh my gosh, I remember lusting after this when I was a kid at Sears — It’s as awesome as I remember it youtu.be/UlRyE4ru1S8?...
Is using the Ye Olde English font our version of a sort of self-relegation? We can have respectable fonts again when we’ve earned it…
Are these all bots that are sticking up for those that use device speakers in public? Folks watching videos or speakerphoning in public is to my ears what smoking is to my nose — I can not stand it and can't believe this has become a normal thing. Throw in some earbuds or watch it later!

Mattress Firm: “You the type that drives on the shoulder and holds up emergency traffic, or takes off their socks and rests their feet on the airplane armrest in front of you? You’re our people!!”
“Let’s give things to the Lord above for Santa Claus comes tonight”… is there another Christmas song that mashes up the religious and the secular as much as this?

This isn't to your point but it was in the quote — I don't understand when people bring up Vegas... Maybe I misunderstand, but I've thought Vegas job was to figure out where to put the line to get equal money on each side of it. It's more about where they think the money is than about the game.
I always loved standardized tests (or any tests) too. Hated homework — loved exams. Felt like I could let my grade spiral towards the ground all semester as long as I could yank back on the stick with a good test at the end.
James Hoffmann has been talking about doing this for a lonnnnng time and I’m so glad it’s here. I’m excited to pick up a kit or two and learn about these processes. youtu.be/2t7Ba8Vr9HY
