A tiny wren sitting on a tree branch with grey background. The wren is a fisty litte bird. It teritorial and will next where there are no other birds around. We see a lot of those little birds here in south Jersey. One Spring our backdoor was open and a little wren discovered an open granola bar box. I was working in the other room and suddenly I hear a repeated noise. When I walked into the kitchen investigating where it came from, I notices small branches had accumulated in the open granola bar box. The wren decided this was the perfect spot to nest. I decided to take one of my handpainted tiny bird house gourds and hung it outside near our door. The wren tried a few more times to come in, but eventually did get the hint and moved into the gourd birdhouse. I cleaned it out so a perfectly tiny nest is waiting for the next wren to occupy come spring. Artist Iris Richardson, gallery Pixel
