A ROMP FOR A COLD WINTER WEEKEND
"With warmth, humor and his unique eye for lifeβs absurdities, Jeffrey Robinson turns one manβs adventure in the real world into the βfeel goodβ novel of the year."
The war of 1812 was only about restoring the king.
Iβm on a big deadline, but if youβve got one or two questions, Iβll happily give you some advice.
I am not, in any way, papering over those views. Read my book. They're all there, well documented. And you're right, it's a complicated legacy. But still, she was Bardot. And that's her legacy.
They buried Bardot today in St. Tropez. Au revoir ma belle. More people have left less of a legacy than you.
The answer is something I read many years ago. And I believe it. Living well is the best revenge. Hang in there and know that you are loved for being you.
Yes, there are many people who simply donβt know how to behave properly when other peoplesβ feelings are at stake. Because of their own insecurities, they feel threatened. I find intolerance unacceptable and will not stand for it. So Iβm on your side when it comes to that. very much so.
If you read the book you'll see we're not dealing with a normal person. She was certainly not a genocidal warmonger. But yes she did have some distasteful views. Still, her life defined a generation. She was a French woman who will always be remembered for many things, especially for being French.
Her best friend for many years was gay, and when she was horrible to him, it wasn't because he was gay. She was incapable of raising Nicholas and left it to his father. Of course her son resented it. Rightly so. But later she tried to reconcile. She even got to know her granddaughters.
Not just teenaged boys.
I don't know what you're talking about. The word fascist does not appear on her wikipedia page. And the quote was Le Pen, on television. Conservative French doesn't mean trump-like or fascists. And yes, her father was wealthy, so what? My kids have a rich father too. Doesn't make them bad people.
What Le Pen actually said was that Bardot was "exceptional woman" and "incredibly French: free, untamable, whole." And what about her upbringing? And the word fascist does not appear anywhere on her wikipedia page. Why? Because she wasn't. Unless you knew her better than I did.
Not true.
Actually, she wasn't. But then, maybe you knew her better than I did.
An oldie but goodie. Like mama always said, "Dont Talk To Strangers!"
Get the Writers Digest Yearbook, or the bigger volume Writers Markets. Inside that are a lists of agents plus how to write a query letter. Thatβs the way to do it. Send out a bunch of really top level query letters. Emails wonβt get read. I wish you well.
Thank you for that. I am proper flattered/ JR
The last time anyone tried to destroy the White House it was the British in a desperate attempt to end our democracy and restore a king. Sound familiar?
