I was able to find an Angelfire page about the subject -- I'm sure I could find more with digging.

Very specific internet fandom moment of the 2000s:

Back in the day, Green Day really had us "fooled" that they weren't The Network -- a new wave-inspired side project. I had no way to listen to any of their music, so I was always mystified by this niche mystery.

As soon as you hear them, though...

This is going to be so interesting to follow. It reminds me of the advent of the music streaming age, where we started looking at album streams over physical album sales.

The positivity here is something I'll never get used to. I really hope it stays this way.

So, as some of you may know, GOG announced Dreamlist. It's basically a list of old games that you can vote to bring back next.

If you can't find a game on the list, you can add it yourself.

It's a long shot, but hey, can't hurt to try, right?

The Sims (2000)

One of my FAVORITE series on the PS1. I have no idea why they haven't tried to revive this format in any way.

The closest any game has come to emulating that feeling for me is the now-delisted Sega Genesis Classics. I just wish it would let me walk around the room/house. 🥺

The level of excitement and wonder that filled me bc of this ad can never be replicated.

This is actually surreal.

I remember exactly where I was when I played the first episode on release. I downloaded the demo, and I immediately had to unlock the rest of it.

Back then, I had to download games at 2am (fellow HughesNet users know the struggle), and I didn't sleep until it was over.

I'm also wondering if my "care" for comics was just wish fulfillment for my younger self that craved a comic store to begin with.

I wish more people had a genuine love for the art form, and I wish they were available for purchase at more places.

I love supporting local businesses over buying from distributors, and now that's a lot harder. I also have limited space to store physical comics, so I'm torn between completing some of my runs or just subbing to a service to read comics.

Just spent the last hour going through my final pull from my comics shop that I bought months ago. It was bittersweet to see so many stories I had to drop because my only comic store closed.

Having a comic book store was a dream I had for years. Feeling a lot of contradicting emotions about it atm.
