Definitely was and didnβt even address my specific questions or requests. I think Iβve gotten the exact same letter at least once before.
Office of U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy Dear Karen, Thank you for reaching out to my office regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this agency. ICE's primary mission is to promote homeland security and public safety through the criminal and civil enforcement of federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration. Under the Biden Administration, we witnessed an unprecedented migration crisis, exacerbated and incentivized by a willful abandonment of law and order across the Southwestern border. Millions of migrants from over 160 countries flocked to our southern border, at times paying coyotes employed by cartels to guide them, with the expectation they will be able to illegally cross our border and obtain citizenship in the United States. The surge of illegal immigration into the United States allowed for gang members, human traffickers, violent criminals, and over 390 known or suspected terrorists to infiltrate communities in every state. As our brave men and women at ICE work tirelessly to apprehend violent illegal aliens that have infiltrated our country, it is critical that they are provided with the support and tools they so desperately need to end this nation-wide crisis. I was proud to vote in favor of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. I) which provides ICE S75 billion for its enforcement and detention operations through 2029, giving these federal law enforcement officers the operating budget they require. With these resources, ICE can continue their indispensable work securing our homeland from threats and fighting human trafficking. I will continue to support them as they work to keep our streets clean, capture violent illegal aliens and keep our families safe. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. It is an honor to serve you in the Senate. Please do not hesitate to contact me or my team about future issues. Sincerely, Tim Sheehy
I contacted our Montana Senators yesterday to request that they vote against funding for ICE. Sheehy has responded already. π€¬

They are probably counting on never being in session at the same time on a Wednesday so theyβll never have to show.
Oh, I forgot - anything by Mary Robinette Kowel, and my absolute favorites The Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde, starting with The Eyre Affair and his Nursery Crime books too. Full of puns.
Sheβs likely already been through them but if not - all of the Grishaverse novels by Leigh Bardugo, and the Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs, both are great! The early books in Jodi Taylorβs Chronicles of St. Maryβs might be good but they do include quite a bit of death.

"Congress, do not waste your time and energy on anything else."
Sir, what do you mean by "anything else"? What else could Congress possibly be focusing on right now?

I mean to be fair this administration would never be able to get their legs up on the desk, so I guess weβll have to settle for nitpicking on the little things like leveling buildings, grabbing people off the street, starving people, and sending troops to our cities.

Polebridge, Montana, and the surrounding North Fork area only has around 100 full-time residents. On Saturday, the hamlet on the edge of Glacier National Park saw more than 60 people attend a No Kings Indivisible rally at the dirt road intersection.
We showed out y'all.

I tried explaining party lines to the younger generation. They were horrified to know that someone in another house could listen to your call.
