Still, I think the courts might get to โ€œcomplete reliefโ€ anyway via class actions as an in-kind alternative. Basically the same effect as a nationwide injunction.

Without some way of getting there, applying/executing law can become impracticable.

Regarding the latest SCOTUS rulingโ€”I think a reasonable rule could have been: Primarily, when a high level of evidence suggests patently unconstitutional acts will likely cause irreparable harm not just to litigants but those like them, a nationwide injunction is appropriate. 1/
