Clarence Moriwaki was just elected as the first Asian-American Mayor of Bainbridge Island.
As a Japanese-American who has served on the council since 2022, Moriwaki has regularly highlighted the island's centrality to the history of Japanese exclusion in the US & the lessons to learn from that era.
The way America relies on Black activists to protect them from their own decisions should be studied. Not by me though.
