She died on 8th January 1945, Sleaford, Lincolnshire aged 24 while on active service. She is buried at Retford Cemetery. #RAF #WW2

Pauline Mary Gomer was born in 1920 East Retford, Nottinghamshire. She was the daughter of George Gomer and Violet Ida Richmond. #WW2
Elsie Joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service. Rank Corporal. Service No. W/42236. She died on 19th July 1944, York, aged 22. She is buried at Windmill Balk Lane Cemetery, Adwick le Street, Doncaster. #WW2 #ATS

Elsie May Thorpe was born in 1922, daughter of Thomas Henry and Rose Thorpe of Adwick le Street. #WW2 #ATS
5. 2nd Lieutenant Abbiss was reinterred at Maynamati Commonwealth War Cemetery Maynamati War Cemetery, Comilla District, Chittagong, Bangladesh on 12th September 1946 among his comrade in arms. #WW2
4. Tragically 2nd Lieutenant Abbiss died in India aged 23, when he was drowned with a colleague whilst training recruits to cross rivers with full pack on 21st September 1942.
Initially Interned at Comilla Civil Cemetery.
3. Corporal Abbiss received a battlefield commission on 12th February 1942 and was then attached to the 8th Battalion of the 10th Baluch Regiment , 123rd Indian Infantry brigade part of the 14th Indian Infantry Division. #WW2
2. Initially he joined the 2nd Battalion Duke of Wellington Regiment, which was part of the Indian Infantry Brigade. The 2nd Battalion took part in the rearguard action at the battle of Sittang Bridge on the 22nd β 24th February 1942.

3. She died on 8th June 1945, aged 33. She is buried at St. Leonard & St. Mary's Churchyard, Armthorpe, Doncaster. Private Catherine Drabble is also remembered on the Armthorpe War Memorial. #WW2 #ATS
2. In 1921 Catherine was at school aged 9 and lived with her family at 5 Longden Terrace, Worksop, Nottingham.
Her family eventually moved to Armthorpe, Doncaster.
Catherine joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). Rank Private. Service No. W/94114. #WW2 #ATS

3. He enlisted in Doncaster and joined the Kingβs Own Yorkshire Light Infantry 1st/5th Battalion, Rank Private, Service No. 1675. On 4th July 1916 Private John Davies was killed in action, France aged 21. #WW1 #doncasterplantworks
2. In 1911 Johnβs occupation was a Brass Cutter age 17 and he lived with his family at 40 Bond Street, Doncaster, Yorkshire. In 1914 he worked at the Doncaster Plant Works as a Brass Moulder. #WW1 #doncasterplantworks

John Davies was born in 1894, Hexthorpe, Doncaster, Yorkshire. He was the son of Arthur W Davies and Kate Senior. #WW1 #doncasterplantworks
3. On 23rd September 1917 he married Clarice Mary Newbold in Barnsley, Yorkshire.
On 9th October 1917 Harry White was missing/killed in action aged 22, Passchendaele. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. Also remembered on the Barnsley Cenotaph. #WW1 #yorkshire
2. In 1911 Harryβs occupation was a Glass Worker at the Glass Works aged 16. He lived with his family at 9 Meadow Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire.
Harry enlisted in 1914 aged 19 and Joined the 1/5th York and Lancaster Regiment (Territorial Force). Rank Corporal. Service No. 250250. #yorkshire #WW1
