A nine panel comic strip following two figures as they traverse a barren and desolate landscape - their journey takes them through ruins and abandoned structures of a former civilisation - we realise that this was once our world and the destruction is the result of a massive global war - we also learn that these ruins and wastelands are the home and country of the victors in the war! The strip is titled Deadsun.

i love when games like marathon come out and get mainstream discourse for a bit because inevitably the only positions are "this is cool. tense. satisfying" or "this is evil. if you enjoy this you should be arrested and would probably kill in real life too if you thought it would benefit you"
So much of concept work is meat and potatoes props. But that work is fun and fills a space! The palette team on Marathon did a brilliant job bringing my concepts to life π
Marathon is holy-shit-is-this-a-real-game incredible. the theft was inconscionable but clearly the rest of the team did not slack one bit at doing what I'd hoped *someone* would do for postcyberpunk at a grander scale. put it up there w/ HL2, Dishonored, Control, Death Stranding as an artbook great.

omnistep now has built-in goofy ahh head bobbing, third person mode and customizable "Done" key which I bound to left mouse button because it's convenient to be able to quickly jump in and out of walk mode

Finished up my mini Dune Harvester this evening, definitley had no idea just how much my digital lookdev background would help with physical painting, having lots of fun with this! model #3 finished :)
Demonschool does this... kinda! Our backgrounds ARE full 3D, but for most of the overworld gameplay, we have a fixed camera angle... if there are no moving lights, we can cache the world to a texture and treat the whole world as an impostor, essentially doing runtime 'pre-rendering' i guess.
