Advanced towing stole this alley
I like how #arlingtonVA supports small businesses like here they are allowing a beloved local small business use this alley for storage for no charge - so nice! #advancedtowing

Someone submitted a 14-page white paper on Columbia Pike transit service as part of their comments on the strategic plan during the comment period and staff put the whole thing into the board book/public record. Honestly inspirational.
Arlington County should definitely π― take full control of Glebe and Langston from VDOT. Without control we will never be able to fix those corridors to improve #VisionZero pedestrian safety or expand transit access. We are at the whim of people who think in terms of highways and faster VMT.

Nobody in Arlington should have to put up with this casual disrespect of the neighborhood. People should be able to walk on streets that are safe

I agree-- the county has focused on missing middle to the exclusion of planning for new housing (apartments and condos) in obvious places like at East Falls Church. One big building can contain more homes than all of missing middle.
The most affordable new homes in Arlington are usually condos and I spend a lot of time advocating for the legalization of new condos

They are for people who might not be able to afford a 2.4M house, which is the price of the average new house in Arlington.
Still extremely high, but that's because we have a huge housing shortage.
The average new house in Arlington costs 2.4M
Wilson Blvd is really important and it's wild that we just let people block half of it whenever they want
With the new protected bike lane, cars are now double parking on Wilson Blvd itself @arl-infra.bsky.social
Hiring competent leaders seems like a good idea for future nonprofits.
Sad to see the outcome of this adventure.
What is the point of the plans and the planners if the plans don't include apartment buildings in Rosslyn? We have a housing shortage!
"the plan did not meet the Fort Myer Heights North Plan or countywide Comprehensive Plan."
Sad news about an awesome tower in Arlington.

No, the county does this on purpose. They want everything zoned super low so that developers have to negotiate with the county for "community benefits" and other gimmes that the county can extract.
Of course the real community benefit is the new housing and they should zone proactively.
