Thanks Andrew, now corrected.
Thanks Andrew, now corrected.
...the WIP was originally intended to do in the first place, which is to encourage more submissions.
The annual report was published in October 2025, so just 4 months ago. There are no plans to do any more WIP files as they were too prone to error and too many people took them to be the final word, rather than the annual report. The missing records file does for the committee what...
Currently have about 875 records in this years work cycle, with the majority of that being from 2025. So yes, lots of people have already submitted lots of records.
The new Missing Records file is now live on the BB website, please have a look at britishbirds.co.uk/rarities-com... and consider submitting any outstanding rarities that you may have been lucky enough to discover in 2025. Thanks.
The 2024 BBRC report is now available to subscribers via the website, and the paper copy should be on doormats shortly.

Can you send me an email please, as the address I have for you has just bounced. Thanks.
If any county recorders did not receive the new WIP file last week via the ACRE email list, please let me know. Thanks.
County recorders will get sent a WiP file once as many records as possible are in the system and assessed. A good number of 2025 submissions are coming in already, which is very pleasing and definitely makes things easier for us. Thank you!
The final missing records file is now available at: www.britishbirds.co.uk/rarities-com... If you see a record on here that is yours, please do consider submitting it to us. The deadline for 2024 submissions for inclusion in the next annual report is 25th May #RareBirdsUK

List of Pied Crow records from 2018-19 around Britain.
Blast from the past, we are looking for submissions of the 2018-19 Pied Crow. We already have submissions for Easington, Clevedon & Kent, but it would be great to fill in as many gaps as possible with observers and proof of occurrence in proper submissions. Thanks. #RareBirdsUK
We have recently uploaded a list of missing records we would be very grateful to receive submissions for. Note that some have already been submitted since this went live a few days ago, thank you to those quick off the mark.

3/3 The next vacancy will be during this coming summer, so ideally we would have nominations in by mid-February ready for our AGM at the end of Feb. Thanks.
2/3 nominating someone you know. This does not replace the existing procedure, but we hope will add to it and alert us to more potential committee members. The form is at: docs.google.com/forms/d/11kf...
1/3 As detailed in the latest BBRC report (Dec issue of British Birds), we are trialling a new way of seeking new BBRC members. If you are interested in joining BBRC, or know someone who may be interested, we have put a google form online to complete. This can be a self-nomination or it could be...
OK, thanks for the explanation.
We do already have the username @britishbirds.bsky.social for the journal, but BBRC also have our own account.
