Had an experience alot like that 2 days ago!
illustration comparing the effects of 2 global warming scenarios: an increase of 1.5 vs. 2.7 celsius. The higher warming scenario will cause loss of all sea ice during Arctic summer, shrinking of Greenland's ice sheet, and thaw of roughly half of existing permafrost by the year 2100

The Dems on the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology have setup a site to collect info on the impact of the mass firings at federal science agencies. If you were fired and are willing to share (including anonymously) itβs here democrats-science.house.gov/sciencefirings
A four-part graphic: (A) Elevations (m a.s.l.) surveyed for Syntrichia caninervis in the Sheep Range of the Mojave Desert National Wildlife Refuge (DNWR). EPSCoR-NevCAN climate towers are shown at each elevation zone site. Final sample of 92 microsites (20 Γ 20βcm quadrats enumerated in (C) spanned three aridity exposure gradients: (B) elevation zones, (C) topography zones (northerly, southerly, or flat transects), and (D) microhabitat shade types. For each topography zone in (C), the slope and microhabitat frequency are shown, and missing squares indicate S. caninervis was not found for a given zone or microhabitat type.

This is a nice post, with crossover value to multiple scientific fields.
Sure, will do shortly!
Hi does anyone have a good suggestion for a documentary film about terra preta and biochar addition to soil. It's for an intro soils class. Had been using an old BBC doc, but it is quite dated now.
Very well done!

Great, you've been added!

Thanks for your response, Marten. Seems like it would be easy for GS to make a way to scrape papers and citations for multiple authors. Shame that they don't. Anyway, one day I'd like to do this for our research center and your example is a nice inspiration.
Hi Marten - very cool. May I ask how you built that, I tried to do a page for a group using the "add coauthors" button. But it did not work. Adding co-authors did not capture additionla papers or citations.
You're already on the list!
Hi folks, this is just a quick rough cut of a Dryland Ecology starter pack. Help me build it by telling me you want to be on it, or suggesting someone else to list. go.bsky.app/BkjLRGY
Has anyone out there run across a dryland or desert ecology starter pack?
great team!
Interesting paper. Provides a quantitative basis for giving our postdocs good advice rather than just anecdotes that people say.
