BC just announced that it has adopted permanent DST -- pushing Vancouver winter sunrises to after 9 a.m. for about 5 weeks. The decision also leaned on a survey in which 93% of British Columbians supported perm DST. The survey didn't include an option for perm ST... My take: a bad move.

So, The Inner Clock wasn't actually my first book. I started with far more important subject matter. And the best genre ever: Choose Your Own Adventure... Will my Seahawks choose to pass or run this time?!? πŸ˜†

Today, I was laid off from Cascade PBS along with my entire team and most of the newsroom. I'll have more to say, but I have loved my time as news editor alongside some of the best journalists I have ever worked with. Every time a newsroom closes, stories go with it. The silence that follows is loud

People are having fewer babies: Is it really the end of the world? Steep population declines in most countries are expected to have negative impacts over the next several generations, but adaptation is possible.

Why are people having fewer children? According to one source: "A lot of men are undateable. Truly undateable.” πŸ˜† @lynnepeeps.bsky.social offers a great in-depth look at falling fertility rates around the world, and how to adapt.
