Yes but I mean we don’t even care anymore about the mass murder of our own schoolchildren so it’s not that shocking that we care even less about other nation’s kids.

They are who we thought they were
It’s enough to make one want to start a freedom school
Had a similar Wawa experience a few years ago in Philly for work. Hotel manager became visibly insulted when I asked “what’s Wawa, is that like a 7-11” but let me off easy. Sandwich rocked.
In 1854, after watching the federal government deploy 2000 federal troops and spend $40,000 sending Anthony Burns back into slavery, Boston's Amos Adams Lawrence said “we went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.”

Inadequate.

Well this ad definitely lines up with that
The Middleton ad attacks Chip Roy for allegedly betraying maga. What’s precious is the deep rough guy voice over followed by a pic of Middleton who looks like an altar boy.
The ads for Mayes Middleton and Mark Texeira 🙄😵💫
I’m at my mom’s house where she has cable tv blasting and I’ve had to sit thru this obnoxious lying ad a few times already. And many other ads not much better. What a freak show.
Watching cable tv for the first time in years and my god the onslaught of vomit inducing political ads.

Don’t give Texas any ideas
On the other hand, Goldman’s _Crucial Decade_ included a fabulous sarcastic quote from Adlai Stevenson on “dynamic conservatism” that perfectly describes the 90s brand of “fiscal conservative but liberal on social issues”- you’d support public schools but decline to pay for them etc
“Using real censorship to fight fake censorship” is a good descriptor for what’s happening in public and higher education right now.
When I was in grad school in the 90s, a Black colleague reported being advised several times (by the most prominent prof in the dept) that his quickest path to fame and fortune lay with becoming a Black conservative.
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend” never ends well and in this case may end us all.
No one is topping that story!
