I forgot to answer because I was trying to remember if I'd stated a max word count. I wouldn't turn something away for 111k even if I'd listed 110k, especially for fantasy.
I'm cool with that universe. My limit w/ "dark romance" is no bully characters who are abusive to love interests.
I love the plotting raccoon meme.
It's right up there with overly dramatic hamster - a classic

Realistic medieval historical, or with a fantasy element?
I think I'd be interested if it has one of the following:
βͺA bit of forgotten/overlooked history
βͺA new perspective, or
βͺA speculative element
Empowered female leads always a plus. Female in disguise to pass as a knight, bonus points.
Hi Revelers! Itβs time for my #MeetTheEditor session. Hereβs my intro video to get started.
Yes, I love butterflies. π¦ #RevPit
A water lily on a pond is centered around its reflection. The text above it says: Reflections one year after winning #RevPit 2025: Below the water lily, the names "M" "Iris" "Marena" "Rakan" "Ree" "Nadine" and "Wera" float
When I submitted to #RevPit last year, I was curious about what happened to the previous yearβs winners. In the comments below, a few folks from the 2025 cohort have reflected on their experience! We'd love to hear stories from others as well!

Time to start off my #MeetTheEditor session! Iβm excited to chat with you all about my MSWL, editing process, interests, hobbies, whatever comes to mind.
That sounds fun too. Humor and physics - it worked for The Big Bang.
I recommend you select the project that you've revised and had the most eyes on. We're looking for stories that are most of the way there and could most benefit from some direction in how to get over the line.
Just realized this is the 1st year in 3 I won't be entering (for good reasons). Apart from all the craft and industry info imparted ever so generously, this event helped give me keep deadlines, set goals, nurture dreams, and live inside of hope! @miranda-darrow.bsky.socialπ #RevPit #WritingCommunity
Screenshot from animal crossing. Text reads: and done! I can buy these from you for a total of 1,365,000 bells. Sound good?
Good morning! Iβm caffeinating here for my #MeetTheEditor chat. All week, the #RevPit editors have been showing off their impressive skills and knowledge, and now itβs my turn.
I just sold my turnips for 455 bells, so that should impress at least 4-5 of you.
Whoβs hanging out with me today?
Yes, I'll be checking all week.
What's your question?
#RevPit #MeetTheEditor
This is how a lot of writers feel.
There's a Dunning-Kruger effect where brand new writers (or people in any field) think it's easy, but the more we learn, the more we realize how complex writing is, and we get intimidated.
Push through, learn more, be open to making changes.

I haven't worked a ton with noir. I've edited thrillers and speculative fiction. I'm a fan of Altered Carbon, especially the character of Poe, the AI proprietor of the Raven Hotel.
I also liked Sugar on Apple+ with Colin Farrell with a definite noir feel and a dash of speculative.
Hope that helps.
Hi, #RevPit crew!! Happy Wednesday and hope you're having an awesome day π Super excited to back again for another season of RevPit!
Let's get my #MeetTheEditor session started! Drop any questions you might have below, and I'll also attach an intro thread βΊοΈπ§΅

It's time for my #MeetTheEditor session! Reply to this thread to ask about my MSWL, editing style, genre preferences, likes/dislikes, or anything else. If I don't get to your question today, I'll answer tomorrow. #RevPit @reviseresub.bsky.social
I love psychological thrillers and sci-fi. This sounds amazing.
I just recorded a video about the complex worldbuilding of The Will of the Many - science fantasy, with magical elements & found relics from an ancient society that remind me of Stargate.
That's coming soon to my YouTube. #RevPit
#RevPit pro tip:
If you missed an editor's #MeetTheEditor chat, you can still @ them with questions about their MSWLs, RevPit, or whatever else
Yes, @djwilster.bsky.social It was the Maud Hart Lovelace prize for children's literature.
Congrats!!!
Good morning #writingcommunity! (It is still morning, right?)
Welcome to my #RevPit #MeettheEditor thread!
Please feel free to ask me questions about what I'm reading, how I edit, my #MSWL or any other questions you might have.
The revisions and edit letter are absolutely confidential.
Hope that helps.
The only public display is the winner showcase, featuring 5 pages and the query letter. Anything else is optional, depending on if the author is interested in joint promos. Not all authors like social media and thatβs fine.
Hi everyone! I'm Kalaβresident iced coffee drinking, probably feral raccoon. I hope you're ready for the annual contest this year! #RevPit
Welcome to my #MeetTheEditor post @reviseresub.bsky.social
Hi #WritingCommunity! Welcome to my #RevPit #MeetTheEditor thread. Feel free to ask questions at any time (if I don't get to them today, I will tomorrow). I had a computer incident earlier (OneDrive deleted my Documents & it took my hubby hours to fix), so I lost my prep time & this may be choppy.
Interesting. Good hook in this teaser, why can't anyone see her cousin. Sci-fi and mystery reminds me of Station Eternity by Lafferty.
