What a great day for eagles and for superb owls. Glad to know that this country loves birds so much! #suberbowl #eagles

Happy #tilapiatuesday! Did you know that the word "tilapia" isn't the name of a single species of fish; it's a genus. There are about 100 different species of the fish!
A Jay peeks curiously from behind a moss-covered log, its head tilted slightly forward as if caught mid-move in a game of hide and seek. Its soft brown feathers blend into the earthy surroundings, while the black streak near its eye and pale crown stand out. The bright green, blurred background makes the Jayβs inquisitive expression even more charming...like itβs just spotted you first!
Quick, over there! A Jay is playing hide and seek in your feed...
Happy #trouttuesday everyone! Did you know that trouts have two hearts?
Sometimes it feels like I need two hearts to hold all of the love I have for these magnificent creatures.
A side view of a grebe in the water. The front of the neck is white while the top of the head & back are black. The red eye stands out against the black and white. Its one leg can just be made out under the water behind it. Taken at San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
Black-necked Grebes have stunning colours in the breeding season but I reckon they are great looking at any time.
Good week all!

A roadrunner on our patio has picked up a grub with its beak and tossed it up a little so it can better position the snack for swallowing.
Down the hatch!
Ravi gets a snack during the morning visit. Thatβs a pretty formidable beak! πͺΆ roadrunner

A photo of an American kestrel standing on grass and eating some sort of pale worm-like thing.
I'm not sure what this American kestrel is eating, but he assures me it's delicious. #birds π·
