I love wolpies :D
Digital portrait of a feminine wolpertinger - a mix of a rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, teeth like a wolf and the antlers from a deer. Wilhelmina has blue short hair and grey black fur with white highlights. She is looking at the viewer with her pink eyes, sharp teeth showing and smiling.
Scribble from last year of my oc Wilhelmina who is a Wolpertinger :D

really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.
YES :D
6 chocolate cupcakes sitting on a cooling rack. Theyβre iced with swirls of chocolate buttercream and dotted with milk and white chocolate chips. We used a star shape icing tip to avoid the cupcakes looking like poos. No one wants to eat a cake that looks like one of those.
Young Mr R loves baking. So we made some chocolate cupcakes today. I then asked if he wanted to ice them. He said yes. So we made chocolate buttercream as well.
Considering it must be at least 10 years since I made any kind of icing, I think we did good π
happy to say that i've seen a lot of fuck ICE attire and only one single harry potter cosplay so far this year at ECCC
AND YES, ALL OF THEM, 'even' (you guys need to value these vital skills more) making color palettes, a quick moodboard, or writting that stupid mail. Not only you dont need AI, but it's going to degrade all your art journey, creativity and even mental plasticity to deal with problem solving.
Aphantasia is the reason I started drawing, instead of building images on my brain I learned to build them on paper with a pencil, challenges (unless debilitating like having a stressful precarious life) bring forth creativity. Any skill you delegate to AI means you're stunting yourself.
So, hi fellas, I have aphantasia, the inability to create ANY kind of image in my brain, my eyesight also messes with my symmetry often due to see the right side a bit bigger than it should, I have VERY shaky hands, an old wrist injury and a terrible case of AUDHD. Don't believe any excuse to use AI
It is currently available from 6 places, with hopefully more to come once the distributors accept it. You've got until the end of March before it goes back up to its normal price of Β£1.99.
Happy reading, and please share this with others who may like a copy.
It also kicked me up the butt and made me finally publish my book outside of Amazon.
It's still available on Amazon, but I can't make it free there without signing up for exclusivity for 90 days.
So I've left it at its usual price there, and advise you to grab a FREE copy elsewhere.
Why March?
- Covid has disabled and continues to disable thousands of people
- Endometriosis is one of my longest running chronic illnesses
- The Indie Visible Charity Event is raising funds for brain tumour research
So it felt like the perfect time to do this.
Black text on a pale blue background that says: March is the awareness month for Long Covid, Endometriosis, and Brain Tumours. So to support those with these conditions, I've made my poetry book about chronic illness free this month. Get your FREE copy at https://Books2Read.Com/U/3RAgOY. There is an image of an ereader with the book The Inadequacy of Words on it, which has a pale cream front cover with a light blue splash and a line drawing of a face with eyes closed.
I'm delighted to announce that my poetry book is available for FREE for the rest of March. It will also be in the Indie Visible Charity Event 30th & 31st March.
I know how hard it can be to explain what life is like with chronic illness. Hopefully my book will help you feel less alone.
I hope you can get something sorted :)
The first progress picture I took was before gravity decided it had beef with this painting. On the right side is some round gold shapes that don't look like a clock yet, and on the left is most of a woman's face. It's basic but the proportions are fairly good.
The second progress shot is after two rounds of repairs as well as the actual progress. On the right, the clock is taking shape against a fabric-like backdrop. On the left, the woman is recognizable as Sara from the Labyrinth movie because of her distinctive gown and hair, but her mouth and cheek are a bit worse for wear.
After the latest loss to the vagaries of physics, the same dang side of Sara's face is smeared again, as well as the fabric backdrop, and this time her mouth hasn't even had a chance to be repaired yet.
Lastly, a bonus shot with my leg propped up near the painting, because not only did the painting fall squarely on my shin, but I'm wearing black jeans and spider socks. The painting is super glossy and you can definitely tell that it's wet paint. Bonus soda can that's about the same height as Sara's head. There's a tuxedo cat under the easel. Princess Elora is glancing over her shoulder to figure out what nonsense I'm up to.
I tried oil painting for the first time.
Gravity+dyspraxia decided to remind me why I use acrylics.
This poor thing tumbled off my easel four times. FOUR.
And trying to get a shot of the paint on my leg was awkwardsauce. Bonus soda can scale and Princess Elora's cameo.
Weβre 8 backers away from 100! Can we reach this nice milestone today?π

I've been using captainraz since at least 2007, which is when I joined LiveJournal. I might have been using it as early as 2005, which is when I actually got the nickname. Were it a person and not a username, it would be able to drink in the US.
Pretty difficult to refute a single thing in this perfect assessment of where the f**k we are, from @iandunt.bsky.social:
Social media β‘ Burn Out
This is exactly why I feel so many Artists get burned out so quickly and so many younger Artists are having such a hard start getting into art or even sticking with it.
The need to constantly "perform" isn't conductive to a healthy mind/body let alone just a natural upkeep.
there are like 50 people in the country who want the UK to get involved in the Iran War, one of them is Kemi Badenoch, one of them is Nigel Farage, and the other 48 are newspaper columnists
Can confirm, my username is 2001 vintage at least, when I joined LiveJournal. Might even have used it for something before then, but not before 2000. My email address is 28. I did, indeed, sign up with an academic email for Facebook in 2005 or 6.

Holy shit
The science is as over-hyped and borderline fraudulent as the ethics are thorny (and that doesn't even count the George Church, friend of Epstein angle)
So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and theyβre simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was βyour piano is too close to the fireplace, youβll dry it outβ and if thatβs not the internet in a nutshell I donβt know what is.
You can bet my nature-champion anvilwrought satyr artificer Anatolilious accidentally made one of these once... "I was just trying to make another friend!"
ppl who still commission their favourite artists even in this era where everyone is broke and genAI is being pushed on us at every opportunityβyou are appreciated more than words can express!!!
Screen shot of text from the end of an email that reads: If you want, I can also write a much sharper version (still legally safe but far more cutting) that will really land with him and his solicitors.
Pro tip: if you're going to send someone a nonsense letter that you hope uses enough serious sounding "legal" language to be taken seriously, you should probably make sure you delete the bit at the end where ChatGPT offers to write a different version lol
