Very interesting and thought provoking! I feel what you are saying is - ‘now (urgently) is the time to make a stand for what you believe in?!’

Completely agree Sean - the system is having a devastating impact on many children and presents in many different ways. I can’t help but feel complicit as I go along with it.
Oo yes - thanks Dan!

1. The ambivalence of people like me on SEND reform must be confusing and might even appear pig-headed.
On the one hand pointing out how broken the current system is and on the other appearing resistant to radical reform that might improve things.
I think neutrality leads to complicity, which can do harm…
I’m at Sheffield but unsure how everything works (only a student!) I will make some enquiries!
I will explore!
Any chance you will do the same talk but in Manchester 🙏

Exclusive: Proportion of English pupils saying they dislike school doubles in eight years
educationuncovered.co.uk/news/proport...
Some 48% of English 14-year-olds, and 28% of 10-year-olds said they did not like school in 2023, compared to 24% and 14% in 2015.
The edited reality version missing from the news!
I think the ableism in the education system also needs addressing and a shares understanding of what inclusion means to all of our CYP 🙏
I also liked the examples they gave re modelling new ‘gestalts’, feels like something really tangible to support schools with. Thanks for organising and inviting!
A beautiful tribute ❤️
Hi, this looks really interesting but unfortunately I can’t make the event. I’m just in the process of writing up my ethnographic phenomenological research exploring the lived experiences of 2 children at school who are autistic and minimally speaking, we should swop notes!
#edpsychs first post alert! I was wondering if anyone phrased outcomes in an EHCNA that are for the adults to achieve in support of meeting a child’s needs?!
This is absolutely horrendous- and no prison time!
I did the one at Derby university online. It was fine as long as you are self motivated.
"What is clear is that we repeatedly look at inherent factors within the child and attribute the issues to them. Well, this needs to stop."
