It also still is not easy to get accommodations at these schools!! It took 6 months for me to get accommodations at one of these β€œelite” schools in grad school. And I’d had the diagnosis since 9th grade.

The title of this article alone reveals its bias. Why on earth would elite schools be an exception?

These β€œelite” schools are often the first places low income students have to get a diagnosis/accommodations.

The widespread public misperception that working mathematicians spend their days solving objective equations and manipulating numbers is so frustrating. There’s an immense amount of creativity needed and subjectivity in the questions you ask and tools you choose to try to solve those questions.

Shame on NYU Langone for ending gender-affirming care & kicking trans New Yorkers to the curb. It's a violation of their promise to treat all people equally, kindly, and respectfully β€” and a violation of NYC's human rights law as well. Bending the knee is bad; denying people care is even worse.
