Like leaning into Jim Carrey Grinch, where the world is sold well and convincing but just a bit off kilter and unsettling, i think that aesthetic kind of works for what Luffy and the gang experience much of the time in that world.

Yeah I'm looking forward to watching it and seeing how deep into being monstrous it is. But honestly a lot of one piece and it's humor dips into monstrous and uncanny, it just gets away with it because it's a cartoon. So I think leaning into the uncanny valley may be a legitimate adaptive choice.
I agree with this, idk what the tail on the series is. But it's fun enough to get people excited and love the characters, which is the biggest sell for the rest of the story. Perhaps it can help build investment for the new WIT adaptation or turn people into current anime watchers/manga readers.
And you have to sit through a LOT of the anime to get to where the artstyle begins to improve. It's really not until around end of skypeia/water 7.
I dont have as much of an issue with chopper as others seem to. He's not like super cute, but it isn't bothersome to me. I do truly think the core human cast is going to continue to do a lot of heavy lifting there regardless, and people who don't know the original story are not going to care as much
My main counterpoint to this is my wife hates the art style of One Piece and is very endeared to the live action depictions of the characters. And I know multiple people who refuse to engage with One Piece because of the art style.
Also, Sanji.

Sabrina Carpenter took notes out of the ninja sex party book for that track for sure
Nobody can convince me this bit from @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's new campaign ad isn't a lift from Expedition 33's soundtrack.

Didn't Moses identify with his people of birth rather than the family he was raised in, thus turning against the home he grew up in to deliver the chosen people he was a part of? I feel like that's pretty different from what Supes experiences.
People who care enough to engage with actual games media probably understand this.
The vast majority of gamers who will eventually see and use the term are not those people, there is an inevitable unironic use of deeming these games "slop" that will come from the popularization of this term
This conversation ends with the Podcaster and developer jumping over the table at the CEO lmao
Bro I watch you to figure that out.

I've been researching allegations regarding the founder and leadership of AbleGamers. From alleged abuse and harassment, financial mismanagement, and failure of leadership to protect employees, sources recount a hostile environment. Read my latest @ign.com story here: www.ign.com/articles/for...

YOU are moving the goalposts because nobody fucking said "working class parents cause bad ideology".
They said parents being too overworked to raise their sons leads to the internet raising them and creating worse men. You made a bunch of other shit up to argue a point around that idea instead.
I haven't cited anything other than your own words equating blaming parents being overworked to blaming women being in the workforce.
All this evidence stuff is you falling back to a defensible position, one that's easily satisfied if you cared that strongly about the issue. This is trolling now.

Several cited articles related to working parents raising their kids and developmental effects as well as negative consequences related to lack of parenting.
But honestly, this is common sense shit. "lack of parenting leads to undisciplined children" isn't trolling
I would argue that saying "parents are too exhausted/busy working to raise their kids well and contributes to boys being like this" is not a glib leveling of blame, but to take that statement and say "well let's not blame this issue on WOMEN working" is actually a very glib deflection.
Avoiding calling out an issue because the potential responses are too close to an opposing faction's ideology is an excellent way to cede discourse on the topic entirely to that faction.
It's the reason low info working class folks see Dems as spineless cowards who don't actually care abt shit.
This makes sense if you grew up in the 90-early 00ss when the internet was new and people didn't really know how it could be used. Parents of kids nowadays have been around for at least a decade and a half of the modern internet, it should be on them to be safeguards/gatekeepers for their children.
??? I feel like you're responding to something I didn't say, but that's ok.
