This week I've been experimenting with Unreal Sequencer. I have no real progress to update yet, but I'm getting the hang of it.
This week I've been experimenting with Unreal Sequencer. I have no real progress to update yet, but I'm getting the hang of it.
The epic door asset creation in progress.
Regarding the animation, I don't have a solid plan yet, but here are my thoughts:
1. Runes glowing on the ground
2. Runes glowing and expand to the door.
3. Some sort of decoration on the door being animated
4. Door shakes and opens slightly. Rocks falling.
5. Door opens and new world is shown.
For the epic door and my scene, I'm imagining a Diablo 4 opening cinematics vibe.
I plan on using the dark ruin asset pack from Fab. and the lost city pack from BigMediumSmall.
Yo, I made this little mouse clicking interactive game demo.
This is my first attempt to learn blueprints in Unreal Engin.
Gemini has been very helpful for debugging and learning blueprints in general.
I hated the process of looking for good and matching assets. I'd wish they were given to me.
# Change Log:
1. Fixed texture blending issues at cave entrance.
2. Fixed lighting temperature being too cool and intensity being too high. Set lighting temperature warmer and set intensity lower.
3. Added background music.
4. Added more lamps in pedestriansβ hands.
5. Added volumetric fog
What a week.
I learned the basics of blueprint. I'm in the process of ideating my next interactive blueprint project.
Meanwhile, I finished my lake environment.
Real life problem is almost resolved. So is my scene.
Been very busy this week. I'm going to add particle FX and more bushes and foliages and way more to the scene tmr.
I'm going for a midsummer night's dream vibe with fire flies. This scene is a resting spot for a group of travelling merchants.
Last week, I did not use the provided landscape template. Since the cyberpunk city does not match with what we are learning in class so good, I have decided to redo the whole scene.
This week, I am dealing with several real world problems, so the progress is minimal. I will do more tmr.
Overall I am pretty happy with the results. I used cyberpunk assets from Bigmediumsmall, and the ultra dynamic sky plugin for the night sky.
Dev Log #1, Jan 11, 2026.
This week is the first week of me diving into UE5. My goal is to blockout a simple cyperpunk-ish city street scene and to try to set dress as much as possible.
